Volvo introduces S60 and XC60 R-Design in India

Swedish carmaker, Volvo has launched the S60 and XC60 R-Design in India.

The R-Design variants feature redesigned front ends to distinguish them from the standard S60 and XC60. These include a Tech matt black front grille with an R-Design emblem and high gloss black stripes. Day-time running lights are located on the outer corners of the cars' front end. Other changes to the exterior include silver-finish ORVMs, 18-inch alloy wheels and circular exhausts.

On the inside, the R-Design cars feature a three-spoke, leather-covered R-Design steering wheel, gear shift paddles, sport seats with heating function for the front ones and a new infotainment system. Other equipment includes navigation, sunroof, personal car communicator, remote control, rear parking camera and air quality system.

Powering the R-Design cars is a 1969 cc, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel engine that puts out 181 bhp @ 4250 rpm and 400 Nm of torque @ 1750-2500 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Volvo claims that the S60 and XC 60 R-Design are its sportiest models and is targeting younger customers with them.
