Volvo XC40 Recharge electric SUV sold out for 2022

Volvo received 150 bookings within just 2 hours of opening bookings.

Volvo India has announced that the first batch of XC40 Recharge electric SUVs has been sold out for 2022.

Bookings for the XC40 Recharge opened on July 27 at 11 am. According to Volvo, it received 150 bookings within just 2 hours of opening bookings. Deliveries will begin in October.

The XC40 Recharge is Volvo’s first locally assembled EV. It is available in the dual-motor P8 variant priced at Rs. 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Together, the electric motors generate 402 BHP and 660 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

The EV is powered by a 79 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed maximum range of 418 km. Volvo says that the battery pack can be recharged from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes using a fast charger.

Volvo also plans to introduce the C40 Recharge in India next year.
