VW introduces add-on warranty up to 7 years / 1,25,000 km

Volkswagen has introduced an add-on extended warranty of up to 7 years / 1,25,000 km on all its models. However, the vehicle must be within 7 years from the sale date and the odometer reading should not exceed 1,25,000 km.

Customers can opt for 1 year / 20,000 km extended warranty on expiry of their new vehicles' warranty. It can be availed 30 days prior to the expiry of a valid warranty or up to 15 days after the warranty has expired. 

The add-on warranty covers various parts of the engine, components of manual and automatic gearboxes, suspension and steering, braking system, fuel system, diesel injection system, air-conditioning and cooling system, electrical system and oil seals.

Only those vehicles that have been serviced according to the recommended schedule at authorized Volkswagen service centres are eligible for this add-on warranty. In case of change of ownership of the vehicle, the balance period / km will be transferred to the new owner. However, the warranty cover itself cannot be transferred to any other vehicle.

Volkswagen offers a standard warranty of 2 years on its cars with 3 / 4 / 5 year extended warranty packages.
