Yamaha Aerox 155 maxi-scooter spotted in India

Recent spy images suggest that Yamaha might be gearing up to showcase a new 155 cc maxi-scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Yamaha Aerox 155 was recently spotted at a Yamaha service centre in India. 

The Yamaha Aerox 155 is based on an underbone type frame with a telescopic front suspension and twin rear shock absorbers. The overall length of the scooter is 1,990 mm and its width and height are 700 mm and 1,125 mm respectively. It has a wheelbase of 1,350 mm and its kerb weight is 116 kg. The Aerox 155 has a 4.6-litre fuel tank.

The Aerox 155 features a raked front cowl with integrated twin-LED headlights and triangular pilot lights. The turn signals are positioned lower down on either side. It also has an LED tail light. The handlebar has a short windshield and it houses a 5.8-inch LCD instrument cluster. The Aerox 155 comes with a stepped seat with 25 litres of underseat storage while the fuel tank is placed between the rider's legs. Grab handles for the pillion rider have been integrated into the underseat fairing. The scooter comes with fuel filler and seat release buttons and storage space with a charging socket behind the front fairing. 

The Aerox 155 is powered by a 155.1 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 14.88 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 13.8 Nm of torque @ 6,250 rpm and it comes equipped with a V-Belt automatic gearbox. Brakes come in the form of a single front disc and a rear drum with ABS. Besides, it rides on 14-inch alloy wheels shod with 110/80 and 140/70 section tyres in the front and rear respectively.
