ZoomCar to introduce doorstep pickup and drop service

Self-drive rental car company ZoomCar, has announced that it will launch a doorstep pickup and drop service in select cities. This service will be started by the end of the year.

At present, ZoomCar users have to pick up cars by themselves from select locations. With the new service, the company will aim to make the service more convenient by having cars dropped off at locations chosen by the users by executives. The cars will be picked up by executives after the users have finished using them.

At present, ZoomCar services are available in Bangalore, Pune, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. The company recently made an announcement that it had raised $11mn from Sequoia, Empire Angels and NGP for the improvement of customer convenience and expansion of locations across India.

Additionally, ZoomCar is looking to expand its fleet of cars to over 1,000 across 250 locations in Mumbai. The company is also planning to introduce Zoom Commute, a service for office-goers. Under this service, users will be able to get a car from Sunday 8 pm to Friday 8 pm for a sum of Rs. 2,500, which include fuel, taxes and insurance.
