Zoomcar launches 'Hop' one-way intercity service

Self-drive rental car company Zoomcar has launched a one-way intercity service. With its 'Hop' service, customers will be able to pick up a car from one city and drop it off at a Zoomcar location in another city.

Currently, customers have to drop-off the car in the same city from where it was hired. Now, users will be prompted to enter a drop-off city and location during the booking process over the Zoomcar app or website.

Minimum duration of the trip will be calculated based on the pickup and drop-off points selected by the user. Pricing will be based on the minimum time required to cover the distance and the cost of fuel. Thus, depending on the total hours required to cover the said distance, the final cost of the trip will be decided.

Initially, the service will only be available on 24 intrastate routes which the company plans to expand to 30 routes before the end of this quarter. Some of the major inter-city routes include Bangalore-Mysore, Bangalore – Mangalore, Mangalore – Mysore, Mumbai – Pune, Ahmedabad – Surat, Kolkata – Siliguri, Chennai – Coimbatore, Vijayawada – Vizag. Zoomcar also plans to add interstate routes to their 'Hop' service in the future.
