Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and NS200 launched at Rs 1.46 lakh

The Pulsar NS160 competes with the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Hero Xtreme 160R, while the NS200 rivals the Apache RTR 200 4V and the Honda Hornet 2.0.

Bajaj has launched the 2024 Pulsar NS160 and Pulsar NS200 priced at Rs 1.46 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

The 2024 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and NS200 now feature a redesigned headlamp unit. The new V-shaped LED cluster has integrated LED DRLs. Both bikes get a new digital instrument console, offering Bluetooth connectivity with features like incoming call and SMS notifications and turn-by-turn navigation.

Powering the NS160 is the familiar 160.03cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 17.03 BHP and 14.6 Nm, while the NS200 uses a 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit that puts out 24.13 BHP and 18.74 Nm.

2024 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 caught testing ahead of launch

The 2024 NS160 will be powered by the same 160.3cc, single-cylinder engine as before.

A prototype of the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 has been caught testing ahead of its launch. It is expected to get several new features.

Spy images suggest the updated NS160 could feature a colour TFT instrument console and new switchgear replete with a multi-function button. The bike could also get a redesigned headlamp.

The 2024 Pulsar NS160 will be powered by the same 160.3cc, single-cylinder engine as before. It produces 17 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 14.6 Nm @ 7,250 rpm and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The NS160 comes equipped with an upside-down front fork and a monoshock at the rear. It gets disc brakes at both ends and rides on alloy wheels.

The 2023 Pulsar NS160 has been priced at Rs 1.35 lakh, while the NS200 costs Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom).

Besides the upgraded suspension and ABS, the Pulsar NS200 has become slightly lighter. The bike now weighs 158 kg as opposed to 159.5 kg. The overall weight of the NS160 has gone up by 1 kg to 159 kg, but it too features lighter wheels.

The Pulsar NS160 derives power from a 160.3cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 17 BHP and 14.6 Nm and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The NS200 is powered by a 199.5cc motor that develops 24 BHP and 18.7 Nm and comes with a 6-speed transmission.

Bajaj Pulsar NS to get USD Forks & dual-channel ABS

Bajaj currently offers upside-down forks on the NS 160 and NS 200 sold in the Brazilian market.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and NS 200 are set to receive a significant update soon. As per the teaser released by the company, both bikes will get upside-down fork suspension and dual-channel ABS.

Bajaj Pulsar N160 launched at Rs. 1.28 lakh

The 2022 Pulsar N160 is based on the new Pulsar platform.

The bike features an aggressive design with a step seat and an underbelly exhaust. It comes with an LED projector headlamp, a semi-digital instrument cluster and a USB mobile charger.

Powering the Pulsar N160 is a 165cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 16 BHP and 14.65 Nm. The bike rides on telescopic fork front suspension and a monoshock at the rear, while the braking setup comprises a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm disc brake at the rear. It also comes with dual-channel ABS.

Bajaj Pulsar NS160 with rear disc brake spotted

According to a media report, Bajaj is planning to launch a new variant of the Pulsar NS160 with a rear disc brake setup. The new variant is likely to be priced higher than the single disc brake variant, which costs Rs. 82,624 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Spy images indicate that the first bikes have started arriving at dealerships. In terms of styling, the rear disc brake variant looks similar to the standard NS160. It features a triangular headlamp with integrated position lamps and dual-tone bodywork. It comes with a stepped seat with split grab rail at the rear. 

The Pulsar NS160 with rear disc brake comes equipped with telescopic type front forks and has a monoshock suspension at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels finished in black. It is expected to be powered by the same 160.3cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the single disc variant. This engine produces 15.2 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm.

The rear disc brake is expected to make the new variant of the Pulsar NS160 slightly heavier than the single disc brake version.

Bajaj Pulsar NS160 goes on sale in India at Rs. 82,400

Bajaj Auto has silently launched the Pulsar NS160 in India at a price of Rs. 82,400 (ex-showroom, Pune). The bike was already on sale in Nepal and Turkey. Now, the bike has started reaching Bajaj dealerships across India. Deliveries are expected to commence from July 1, 2017.

Aesthetically, the Pulsar NS160 looks similar to its larger sibling - the NS200. It is built on the same steel perimeter frame and sports the naked streetfighter look. The front and rear fairing, fuel tanks, headlamp assembly and the instrument cluster are a straight lift from the 200cc machine.

The Pulsar NS160 draws power from a 160.3cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that churns out 15.3 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 14.6 NM @ 6,500 rpm, while being mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by conventional forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear. The bike's braking setup includes a 240 mm disc at the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear.

The Pulsar NS160 is expected to compete against the likes of the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ-S.
