Underseat Subwoofers

Hi Gurus, Check out these links:

Alpine SWD 1600 Ultra compact under-seat subwoofer - Alpine SWD-1600 - Other Size Bass Box Deals - Car Audio Centre

http://www.cardomain.com/item/CLASRV303

Do you think these products are worth buying? Are they available anywhere in India? Can anyone on TBHP help me source one?

All the 4 are active subs and they will not be loud to do a good job. They will make sound but you will not able to feel that sound which is not acceptable in the case of low of the spectrum. IMHO they are waste of money.

I would suggest to go for a 8 inch sub instead which will be a better option.

These subs have their limiations but if you are that pressed for space they might be your only alternative. dont expect them to compete (in SQ) with regular subs. You can bend the laws of physics a bit (mostly using psychoacoustics) but you cant defy them outright.

OOh !!! This is not my forum as I hardly know much about ICE. But the itle caught my eye - ' UNDERSEAT SUBWOOFERS '

I already get constipation ( sometimes )when I sit in some of my friends cars which are demonically loaded with woofers ' dhoom dhooom ' . It gives me a very strange & peculiar feeling in the backside - specially after ' butter chicken - butter naan - beer etc '. Imagine what is it going to do if you had one plonked right below you - Technolgy - hmmmm !!!

see what a pair of subs with solid power can do to a car...

The sub woofer in work are Ground Zero Plutonium Series.

:: Ground Zero :: Subwoofer / GZPW 15

capable of handling just 5000 watts rms power, What will happen if this goes under the seat. (I am assuming, but nothing is impossible)

I would suggest to put a enclosure in the boot, but when boot space is required remove the enclosure for the same.

No, I dont wanna do that...I want something under the seat, because I frequently use the boot space and dont want to compromise on the BASS!!! I in fact had plans to sell this car and sold off the sub which I had..but now my plans have changed...

LBM can you suggest the size/dynamics/shape if I want a custom made enclosure for 8" sub under the seat?

Sir I would again say..get one in the boot the under seat will not do justice and to find a 8 inch sub for the same will be a difficult task as there hardly any good 8 inch subs in the market.

LBM, it seems fake....how would a car rattle like this ONLY with subwoofers...you need to have some other pushing factors as well.
