It worked very good at home but in car, I could never make it work even with antenna connection to car antenna via an self made adaptor cable. Very poor reception and finds only a few stations (really stron ones). I am still looking for some other solution to improve the situation. I thought that USB FM and MP3 card being discussed in other thread could be one solution, but I am not sure if I can lay my hands on it in Bangalore.

off topic...if anyone needs a totally free fully customizable ECM diagnostic software, check out http://freelog.sourceforge.net/ . i think this only supports Honda engines though.

if i understand you correctly, you're looking for a device which once you plug into your OBC will give live feedback instantaneously?

sorry bud, can't help you there...but i'm sure the maruti service centers can help you with that kind of hardware.

hi all,
how about making a voice recognition to start the engine like in the movie "2012" .
like after my PC boots and ill say "START THE ENGINE" the engine will crank and start.

sure, this will be for fun and i willl have a by-pass switch if something goes worng with my carpc.

an idea i have is to use remote car starter. then i am left with is how to tirgger the remote starter thru voice reco. from the carpc. all i need is to trigger a relay after it recoginses my voice.

any programmer around who can help us?

Can we do a group buy for HQCT? It might turn out to be cheaper that way - maybe affordable even

HQTC costs 160$
Thats approximately 7500, Isn't that too expensive? Even if we buy it in bulk, It wont cost us less than 6k including shipping. I don't think spending 6k just for the sake of an FM tuner is worth it. Instead we can go for the other tuner mention in the same thread(previous page). That would cost you around 1000-1500 but no one is sure whether it works with centrafuse, Road runner etc

You could have tried with fusion brains.

Hey guys,
Nice informative thread...
I've been planning to install a CarPC for some time...

Have any of you considered liquid cooling?
you can get the cooling block for the procc and construct the rest your self.
this way you don't have to worry about dust fouling up any of the fans [i've busted a GFX card because the fan got jammed. I think it was dust that caused it.]

and about the LCD on the steering wheel as has been posted before, Ideally I'd like the screen on the steering wheel to be mounted with some sort of self righting mechanism [The the wheel caps of a Rolls Royce.] where regardless of how the steering wheel is turned, the LCD remains upright

Finally, about the fusion brain... what is it?
Is it some sort of ADC [Analog to Digital Converter]
Will it be possible to wire my electricals [of the car of course] such as the head lights, power windows, car ignition [i hear this is possible] into the FB?
If I do, then apart from manual control [the hard wired switch] will i also be able to control it from a CarPC?
as in lower or raise the windows via touch screen, or even remote access
