Neeta has started inducting many more B9Rs in their fleet. I get to see a lot of new ones these days.

found these extreme route buses having these specialties.
  1. Vinayaka bus operating Thrissur -Kozhikode route has been equipped with bi-xenon head lamps where in one light costs more than Rs 10000.
  2. The second one obviously a famous bus among BHPians, the Parasuram AC Air bus which operates in Kodungalloor - Sulthan batheri route is built on 12M leyland chassis and charges a slightly high fare than a normal FP LS bus which operates in kerala.

On Thursday midnight the A1 TRAVELS sleeper bus which was on its way to ADOOR from BGLR met with an accident. The driver was killed on the spot. His name is Raja. The bus rammed in to a stationary lorry parked on the highway. This is the same bus that met with an accident about 10 months back with a crane in L&T Bypass CBE killing 6 passengers and the driver. i have not got much details and the photos of this accident.

In an another incident the HARIKRISHNA travels bus on way to calicut from bglr had an accident in wayanad churam on wednesday noon. Luckily ther were no passengers as the bus had a breakdown and was moving empty. the driver and cleaner sustained injuries. The bus toppled in to a 60 mts down ditch. As per news the bus has become a total loss.

The pics that appeared in news papers showed the name on the bus to be "Golden". Let me see if I can pull out a copy of the newspaper report and scan it

I travelled Hyd mumbai on Sree Kaleswari Mercedes Benz. The bus was poorly maintained the seats some of them were not in proper condition. Thepush backs and the leg rest was working with great difficulty. In short a beauty was shoddily managed. I still feel Volvos score over the Merc in terms of leg space and speed on express ways especially the B9Rs. One issue i still do not get is inspite of being an iso9001-2000 bus service the places its stops for dinner is unbearable i still dont know why bus operators compromise on this why cant they pay their drivers couple of hundred bucks more so that they stop at quality places rather than shoddy places with no toilets.

Smoky Volvo

Have seen many B7R's of this kind with heavy smoke from them during acceleration.Just look at the soot it has deposited over the rear panels compared to side panels.
To be frank its really rare to see one from ALL or TML in luxury buses.

This is an old Raj National Express bus - a 2002 model! The soot is surprising - looks more like dirt than soot to me, though.

Initially Sona Travels was the ticketing agent for Raj, later the buses starting appearing with markings "Raj Sona"... now its all about Sona Travels!!

They are based at Aluva.

I have seen a lot of sooty Volvos. The 2002-03 buses often has this. For example Paulo Travels from Bangalore to Goa emits pitch black smoke which is plain embarrassing. I do not know enough to judge whether this is normal or not.

Raj's fleet is also a good example. Since they are selling their vehicles slowly almost all their fleet is from 2002-04 period. They also often emit quite heavy smoke.

If possible (not sure, I am often on a bike) I will post a video of this.
