Lovely Suvega you have there. Thanks for putting up the difference between French and Indian models. Since yours is a CBU from France, is it called a Mobylette? I am looking for information regarding the various models of Suvega in India and what were the differences. Could you please check with your contacts from ex-MI regarding the same. Also check with them for pictures of original Suvegas so I can compare with mine and restore accordingly. Also, what are those fittings on your front wheel (near hub)? Are they original too?

Please post more pics after she is back from movie-shooting

Mobylette & our Suvegas shared the same engine though !!
Mobylette had a "twin down lane pipe" chassis & inverted handle levers
Sure, I'll post more info regarding our SUVEGA s, but not from our ex-MI s, Most of them are misleading at times.
reason: will pm to u if u r so particular !!!
Ho! those small lights fitted to the front wheel axle--- Chinese stuff!!, just to add pep, since the light reflectors glow in pecock green, which goes with the color scheme.

Hi,
BSA BOND, a 50cc bike was brought to us by m/s Brooke Bond ltd, (Automotive division) at early eighties
Intially it came in 2 guises, a Mono-shock & a Dual shock version.
also a another BSA Falcon, with mono-shock & frp side covers.
Have look at my Bond before & after restoration ( India's first mono-shock bike)
Note the " rear mono-shock canti-lever suspension

Its not sportif, this one is Kinetic Safari.
Sportif was manufactured by m/s Chammundi Mopeds , Tumkur in technical collabration with legendry PEGOUT of France.
Think you mistook this Safari for an Sportif, because both of these mopeds had "Sheet metal fabricared Spokes"

Please do post info regarding the Indian Suvega models when you get a chance. I need a picture(s) of a correct Suvega Deluxe. I will use the pictures as a reference for restoration of my Suvega Deluxe. Also, I would appreciate it if you can please have a look at the pictures of my Suvega and make suggestions. The pictures that Pavan_Kadam has posted are also of my Suvega. The information about other Suvega models was purely out of interest.

I agree with you about misleading and often contradicting information from ex-factory employees. I have personally experienced this when I used to quiz Yamaha factory-trained mechanics, old-time employees at Yamaha dealerships about RD350. I guess we just need to hear them out and collate the correct information.

Explorer

One of my favourites was Enfield Explorer. It was a flop because of its FE but rode very well. I even remember the jingle "Ride out to find out what it is to be free. Good times, good feelings, discoveries."

Anyone can remember any other jingle? Like "My BSA Bond and me"

I'll be interested in one if going reasonable and with papers!

EDIT: Just saw the pics.- are these 2 lying at your local gujiri?? Because I'd seen MEE 1066 there around Jan '07!!

I was told its a '76 model, was quite complete and decent then! 'wish I'd picked it up then, but wasn't interested in these at the time!

Great job! Thats a well restored BSA Bond. Iam not sure how many of these are still around probably almost extinct. Also there was a another model called Spitfire from BSA . Do you have any pictures of that model.

You can see the "trafficators", silencers & other stuff

Thanx for the compliment jai !!
BSA "spit fire" from Brooke Bond India ....all stories
I have seen plenty of mods on to these Bonds & Falcons( with twisted expansion chambers, spiting smoke on the fellow riders, with plenty of stickering of Fire ) at mid '80s.
You are right still there few oldies( claim themselves as Bond Specialists) say there was "Spit fire" s
I"ll post that kind of bike,,which is still in use,

This particular Suvega commonly known as " Square Suvega" (amoung our mech brothers..I guess)
But an ex- Mopeds India technician, told that it was known as " Suvega GL or Suvega Gold Line"
Think this one either just before Suvega Samrat or after it.
Look at the rear rigid suspension!!
Any one with more historical details on this " Tirupathi Gold L...."
