Southern TriState meet - Oct 2nd long weekend - Team-BHP

Hi guys,

Think it is time we had a meet in the western ghats, either Bandhipur or Masinagudi.

This is one of the best times of the year to visit the forests with better chance to sight wildlife (well.. who cares... when we have all the cars to check out anyways).

The idea is to have a meet and stay in one of the jungle resorts over the Oct 2nd long weekend.

Bangalore members - It's a 5 hour drive approx via Mysore, Gundulpet.

Coimbatore members -
Option1: Sathyamangalam - Gundulpet - Bandipur (4 hours approx)
Option2: Mettupalayam - Kothagiri - Ooty - Masinagudi - Bandipur (5 hours approx)

Kerala members - Either drive through Coimbatore or via Callicut. Can anyone from Cochin/TVM post updates on the routes please...

Now that I have started the thread, can you guys post your views on venue and date and your availability/interest...

Masinagudi should be ideal for a day's drive.
Wayanad is also fine almost around the same time 5-6 hours.

Since the track is booked this time around, lets make it a meet. We can met up at Gundulpet and drive down to Masinagudi. I can arrange for food at some resort there. Have fun, talk, eat, sleep... Should be even more fun if we can get one of those resorts with a really big open space.

Sriram, I think you should change the name of the thread to "Bangalore-Coimbatore-Kerela" meet. That would more apt for the discussion.

BTW gundulpet will not be a good idea. Lets find something in Masinagudi like the one owned by that MRF Rally driver... forgot his name. It was even featured in one of OD's road trips.

Ok, I just came up with Gundulpet as a meeting-point.... sorry I should have been clear. Re. the resort, do you have any other information? I checked on www.indiaresortssurvey.com and came up with 4 resorts, in the order of their ratings....

1. Jungle Lodges Bandipur Safari Lodge
2. Tusker Trails
3. MC Resort
4. Ambuja Farms

If anyone knows any other resort, can you please add to the list? I will start making calls and find out the rooms availability.

Don't have to go that far.

Most of these managers don't know labour laws. Just contact the HR department and they will educate your manager. Ofcourse, your working relationship with your manager may go sour.

Yup its Jungle resorts.
Heard the place was really beautiful a couple of years ago. Not sure how it is now.

I usually stay at Blue Valley or the other one (with bar) enroute to Blue Valley. Nice food. Ok surroundings.

Here is what I think might work out

5.00 AM - Start from Blr, Cbe
7.00 AM - Reach Asanur
8.00 AM - Reach Mysore
9.00 AM - Blr and Cbe ppl meet up at Gundulpet
10.00 AM - Reach Resort, Have BF
11.00 AM - 3.00 PM - Food and Fun
4.00 PM - Start off
9.30 PM - Reach Blr
10.00 PM - Reach Cbe

Round trip - 400 kms. Good roads all the way except for patches on Gundulpet - Masinagudi road.

Blr guys???

Cochin guys? Its just another 3 hours from cbe. So what say?

Ok guys we really need to speed up things and book the resorts well in advance. being a long weekend half of bangalore will be in bandipur and we'll be stuck without a place.
