Any specific reason why you are bothering to carry food from elsewhere to here? Yelagiri has some restaurants on the top so you should be able to get lunch arranged for all the members and families right on top . Why all this CCD for veggies, biryani for non-veggies confusion of carrying it, etc? Call Hotel Hills in Yelagiri and ask them to prepare whatever you want. That way, you guys can focus on the meet, and leave the food planning / packing / serving tension to the restaurant staff.

For Bangalore guys who cannot eat at Yelagiri, lunch options are abundant near Krishnagiri - Shoolagiri area on NH-7. Bang opposite CCD there is a restaurant called Dhaba express which serves pretty good north indian cuisine. You guys can stop here and have your lunch after the meet. Or else, the CCD chain near K'giri also has A2B, McDonald's and Sri Krishna hotel I think.

It is simple. It is Ambur Biryani procured from the one and only Star Biryani shop.
Whatever you suggested is all well and good for an organized tour. But I feel there is really not much hassle. The biryanis are going to be ordered on Friday itself so that on Saturday they will be ready and packed when we arrive. We carry it to Yelagiri and have the food, relax and enjoy the weather. As you said, Veg people can have their food at Yelagiri hotels too.

We have a week to think over the details but right now the questions are: Are you coming?
Do you want to tag along?
What and how much food do you prefer?

My apologies, it was a faux pas . I wasn't aware of the popularity of Ambur Biryani, until Arun told me about it. Now that the thought seems tempting enough, lets save the McDonald's and A2Bs for some other time. My question now is - does Ambur Biryani have a vegetarian version for us veggies??

Bangalore guys need to reach Yelagiri turn-off by 10:30-11am. Here Chennai guys will be waiting for you. Hence plan your start from Bangalore. I estimate it wail take 2.5hrs to reach Yelagiri turn off if driven in convoy mode.

One place to meet when starting from BLR would be the point where NICE road meets HOSUR road.

Please post here if coming and not on list yet. Also do PM your mobile numbers to me as I will use them to communicate and ensure everyone is in sync.
