Dear Stahner,
Do you know where is the chasis number etched/embossed on the chasis in heralds?I have no clue about it.I know the place to look in Fiats and Ambassadors.
My car has a label on the left column on opening the bonnet.It has engine and chasis number embossed on it.
Kindly opine.Regards.

You have a point, but there is an E-type V12 that made it into chennai within the past 5 years. The only way is transfer of residence

Main problem is scarcity created by assymmetrical movement - classic cars get out but very few get in coupled by crippling duties and limited eligibility which in turn creates demand leading to unrealistic prices.

There was a good article about this car's restoration several years back in Auto India with good pictures. I guess i still have that issue. It apparently cost Rs.8L for restoration then..Of course with the absurd and bizarre rules and regulations of Bharat any amount can be asked for a classic car.

Any car pre 1950 can be imported into the country for 220% or 240% duty. There is no need for TR or any other requirement as per my knowledge. there have been 8 to 10 cars that have been imported into the country in this way. From what i have heard, two cars have been imported by Mr.Nitin.Dossa itself.

Smiths meters! Marked in Miles! A good Landmaster, after AGES!

Its reregistered though. The colour is a bit strange, and not original. Pink!

In which sense, is it original? Or well kept? To some extent maybe in the past? But not original in the true sense.
A very early Select. I believe this model was known as the Millecento. However, cannibalized to some extent. Some rust present.

SuperSelect trims. PAL Steering. Meters not original.

However, I think this somewhat original car is a keeper. Especially at the throwaway price at which it is being offered.

It is definitely better than other Fiats I've seen. And I've seen much worse.

It is a deserving car, methinks.
