Absolutely agree with James & Dr. Mohan..

If I may ask a question - what is stopping us from doing more offroading?

(I'm asking this because I'm new to the scene and I dont really know if there's a shortage of places to go to, or if peoples schedules don't permit them, or if there are some other reasons..)

I guess all kudos are to Dr. Mohan.

I reached Mumbai a day before and Dr. Mohan arranged pick-up for me and my friend. We went to the site same day and did all the obstacles to make sure they were doable.

We again went back in morning and checked all the spots. The place was so huge that it was a good decision by Mohan to arrange for scouts and the Sumo which helped us again in finding the locations.

The good part is there is still lot to be discovered over there. More ruts and more climbs.

I was not expecting everybody to be on time, considering my previous experience at Rajamachi.

All hats off to Dr. Mohan for such a brilliant effort, not to miss out Allan/James/Ibrahim and other friends who all actively participated in one form or other in the OTR !

Great . Remember, I would be needing lots of inputs from you, so that I can then plan my next set of mods -- especially tyres/wheels :-)

All the best.

Hi Imran good question ,I do keep a few things in my Gurkha ,but I dont know If I am missing out any thing. Experts can definitely guide us in this respect.

* Hydraulic 3 ton Jack for changing tires. The stock jack is a joke.
* A Nylon 4 ton snatch strap.
* A steel tow rope.
* 2 height adjustible stands.
*Wooden plank.
*Spanners.
* 2 number 3 ton D shackles,
* Tire Pressure Gauge.
* Portable air compressor filling upto 50 Psi..It helps to inflate my Dingy too.
* Tire repair kit.
*A magnetic 12 V lamp for under the body repairs during the night.
* 2 piece rubber carpets large size for sliding under the car or to put over tow rope while winching.

Sorry accidentally hit the submit button.

Thinking seriously about a winch,although I feel a PTO would be better.

Other things I keep

* Set of spanners
* Oils,Power steering,brake oil etc.
*Spare bulbs.
* Fan belt.
* spare wipers.
* Other spares like fuses
* A collapsible shovel with pickaxe.
* Walkie Talkies.
* GPS navigator.
* A 6 inch hunting knife .
* A waterproof oil based compass.
* A Collapsible walking stick with measure scale to know the wading water depth.
* A life jacket while trying to assess the depth of an unknown river.
* An emergency whistle with flint.
* A mountable ,12 V adapter chargeable , HID Lamp for Night OTR.
* 8 Gallon water bag .
* Fire extinguisher (not shown).
* A First Aid Kit (not shown).
*Gloves leather(Not shown).
All the above fit snugly in a fibre bag which can be attached to the floor of my Gurkha in the rear.

Hi Dr. Mohan - thank you for the detailed reply!

I definitely need to get my toolkit upto speed here - the air compressor would be quite handy in a sticky situation.

Devang, what time are you targetting to leave from Bombay on sunday?

Wow - I just saw the 2nd list!

I think I'll start with getting a set of spanners , a couple of screwdrivers..

Does anyone have a PTO on their vehicles here? I doubt it ..
And just for curiosity sake, where will you source one from? I'm sure it'll be quite expensive..
