Gentle Reminder:

The last time we discussed Alfa-Kilo we committed to doing our bit for the environment by planting saplings. Can we consider visiting a nearby nursery, select the plants, do the math and add this to the entry fee? If each of us plant 4-5 saplings, it will make a difference!

Anyone with any experience please chime in. We will have to ensure we plant them where there isn't any running water but sufficient line-of-sight to the sun etc. I just remembered this so I thought we should consider it.

I hadn't forgotten Gs and have already started.

Ok Lets get down to the details.

We have this farm for the last 24 years and have done our bit for Aforrestation.

In my Experience planting any saplings on public land is useless as it is difficult to care for and protect.

The only way around this is to plant trees on private land which can be cared for and protected.

I have already started digging 2x2 pits on my farm to plant a variety of indigenious trees , we have till date completed roughly 60 pits and should have roughly a hundred in total dug by next week.

This is a tribute to Alfa Kilo Who loved nature and the outdoors and also a way to nullify the damage we might cause to the Environment.

We divide the cost of the plants and the cost of digging the pits by the number of participants which roughly works out to rs 120 per person at 50 particpants, which we can add to the per person cost.

If this is ok we could commence the planting on the 25th of june and get Mr Ajit singh to plant the first AKC sappling after which my men on the farm would do the needfull.

What say?

Guys,

A lot of planning is happening behind the scenes. We will have announcements, plans, etc up by next week.

Apologies. I wasn't sure if you'd get permission.

@DKG & Khan,

Can you guys please tell us how many cars will be coming from HYD and BLR? You guys will get first priority.

Also all out-of-towners if you'll are coming earlier or plan to stay back later, please let me know if you need accommodation in bombay, etc.

Have already started spreading the word. I reckon there should, at the very least, be two other cars apart from me.

BTW is anyone game for heading into Goa and some more fun that side? after the Poona rounds? Might as well turn this into my annual vacation and have more of the western ghat exploration. I have a friend with a 600 acre mango farm near Ratnagiri. He would welcome us there. Another friend has a farm in Chikmangalur, we could cut across from the coast

Already discussed this with Allan about Goa a couple of days ago. Let's make it happen.

Good show !! make it happen doc, I am game !

If we are atleast three Jeeps heading that side we need to jump start our friends in Goa for some trail exploration there. We need to dovetail this with the Lonavla events though so we keep driving on and come back to Hyderabad from Goa eventually

Smoke fewer leaves

Seriously - I think the Safari would struggle on some of the trails we've been hitting. I don't believe it would make Alfa-Kilo without some serious damage! Is there another vehicle you were planning to bring?
