BOLBOLERO

Your boy has lots of interest in painting - I suggest you make use of some part of the painting as a official T-Shirt for the Alfa-Kilo - it will look good.

My farm is close to Takve ,but it is quite interior.

i think there would be more than a few participants who do not actually have 4 wheel drive at present.
Thanks Kunal, you just made my/ our day! My mind is already set on having a 4WD vehicle (MM540/550). My son's enthusiasm will probably make it happen soon! I will be glued to this thread and probably will try and meet you the next time you are in Karjat for a recce.

Hey James thanks man! My son's exact words - "We can do it in the Bolero, Baba". Looking at the videos posted by gsferrari, there is no way the Bolero will be able to take that kind of terrain. In this climate (dry terrain), some part of it maybe, but no chance during or after the rains. We will definitely try some of the route. Since my son is into offroading, I can probably try to get some relief from the better half, towards my/our quest for an offroader! BTW- how old is your son?

Aditya has a seat confirmed in my Classic. That pic made me smile after a long tiring day last night!
Your Bolero can do a bit of the obstacles as James mentioned.
Hey Tejas, will not miss flagging you down the next time we happen to cross paths. Thanks for the seat reservation. You know how difficult it is to get reservations during season! Will surely try some sections. Am sure you guys will help out if we get stuck.
BTW- saw your Classic at the Warden Road BP petrol pump, yesterday, all cleaned/ washed/ greased and shining.

Aditya's idea of offroading:-

Nice videos!
Kunal, I've mailed you something - take a look when you can, and what do you think of a night-time recce, one of these weekends?!

He's not sneaking in the viewing (though he would love to), We let him go through TBhp, whenever me or the wife is around. He will be Seven in June. He calls that dictation.

Please block your calendar guys.

I hope this gives the Chennai and Bangalore Guy's enough time to recuperate after the Palar Challenge .

Reporting is on friday the 27th, people are welcome to drop in through out the day, please be here latest by 12 midnight.
  • The pre event Briefing will be on the 28th at 9:00am followed by a demonstration and explanation of the various recovery gear and techniques used to extract a stuck vehicle.
  • The Challenge will commence at 10:00am and will continue through the day, once all vehicles have completed the course for the day we will return to the rest area.
  • The challenge will continue on the 29th at 9:30am and we should be done by 11:30 am.
I will announce the final route with a rough map outlining the various obstacles and the total course length soon ,so everybody knows what to expect

I will shortly announce the Per person cost for food and lodging.

Guy's any suggestions are welcome.
Hi Kunal,

There is a slight problem in the dates.

- All of us are planning a Leh trip on 27th of August (devang, allan, mohan, genesis, satan, danny).

- Also the palar challenge gets done on 15th august and the south indian jeepers (bangalore, chennai ,hyderabad) will be tired and will need to work on their cars after the gruelling challenge.

- Can we prepone to sometime in mid july?

I have changed the dates to The 25th 26th and 27th of june as the previous dates were unfavourable to many.

These are the final dates guys please block your calendars.

I will post the cost per person in a day or two...it will be a very minimal charge for food and bedding and some misc expenses.

Guys please individually confirm your attendance for the challenge on this thread so i can confirm the number of people attending as i have to confirm the number to the caterer etc.

Thanks

Kunal
