Hi Vaivhab These tyres were promised to me by the thye dealers in Mayapuri, not the MRF dealer, which is at the red light, but the one after that. He asked me to give him an advance of 3k and he will deliver the tyres in a weeks max. He was referring to these as "jeep goddie" and they were not MRF's but Apollo or some other brand. But do you think that these(NDMS) tyres are good for a 550? The height is 30". Should i go in for these or the yokos are better. The Miclelin's are out of my budget and I had a chat with Mandeep and he advised me to go for either Goodyear Wanglers or BFGoodrich as a second choices but the Goodyears are not available in 16" rims. I want about 31" 11" 16" which are equivlant to 275/70/16's. And BFGoodrich's are available a max of 235's in 16". The choice that I am left with are either yokos or NDMS's |

Thanx BBS, Goodrich has very wide range I guess. How is the performance by the way? will it last longer than MRF/Appllo/Vikrant(JK) sandgrips? |

DK , Is this 31x10.5 R16 equals to 7.5 X 16 size which I have currently on my 550 (excuse for my knowledge). These stock tyres are of Vikrant(JK tyres). Pls suggest the name of manufc.of that radial tyre. Is it Yoko/Michellin/or any other. Also the price of the same. Tarkesh |

Pls check there for Bridgestone Dueler A/T 693 and you will find a big range of sizes in 16 inch. I am surprised to even in 235/85 R 16. Wow, what a great hight you are going to have with these tyres, let me calculate... Oh my god, the overall hight of the tyre is 32 Inch; this means 1 inch taller than Sandgrip and with almost the same width(infect aprox 1.5 inch wider). I found this size most exciting for all those have 16 inch Army rims of 5.5 inch width. |

Thanks DK for giving another option for choice. By the way when you say 235/85/16 then this 235 is width right ? then What is the width of Sandgrip ? increasing width will hamper drivability? or Fuel Effi? Because I dont want to do something too far from original sepc of the Jeep. Tarkesh |

235/85 R 16 are 9.4 inch wide whereas Sandgrip are 7.5 inch wide. I am using 31x11 R 15 which are 11 inch wide. I do not think that this 1.9 inch more thikness will hamper the dirability. But offcourse you will notice anyhow difference after changing the tyres from NDMS to Redial. Redial would give you a less bumpy ride but yes, a bit more body role. I have seen the tyres of the same size on a MM550 here today only and I will try if I can click a picture and post it here. That chap has fitted a Isuzu 1800 CC petrol engine (Ambasador) :deadhorse |

GTO has been using the Michelin in his jeep and his experiences have been rather good with these tyres; but anyways, they are the costliest in the lot! |
