vehicles with disc up front have new pcd. (i think post 2000)

thanks samurai. In that case these alloys will be a direct fit. Will enquire about the cost, but most probably they won't be less than ~5-5.5k.

Is the price right? Are Appllo and Sandgrips have same life of 12000- to 15000 kms? Pls let me know because I want to put the same on my Army 550XD ? Or else pls suggest any other good option which can be used for offroading as well as on road driving.

Tarkesh, this price seems me very high. I would like to go for some good redial tyre of 31x10.5 R16 or something like this. These radial tyre are going to give you the same hight of Sandgrip and Bullet but will give you a little less bumpy ride. Also the tyre life is going to be not less than 30K.

Yes they have pretty much same life..12000 -15000 Kms. and the price is 5000... your other options would be 6.00 x 16 NDMS tyres (would be great if you find 7.00 x 16 but they are hard to find) or you can go with the option given by Desertking- buying a decent A/T tyres

Is this 31x10.5 R16 equals to 7.5 X 16 size which I have currently on my 550 (excuse for my knowledge). These stock tyres are of Vikrant(JK tyres). Pls suggest the name of manufc.of that radial tyre. Is it Yoko/Michellin/or any other. Also the price of the same.

I am also currently on the process inquiring about tyres for my 550 this is what I have found out till date.(the details I will confirm as the notepad is in my office and will reconfirm in the morning)

Yokohama Geolanders 275/70/16 AT'S Rs.7350
Miclelin LTX 275/70/16 AT's Rs.9000


There are several options available in 7-9k range. Also some MRF dealers are promising to get 7.00x16 NDMS but I am not sure price I am not sure 4-5k range

I am also looking for tyres for my jeep. If you can manage to get 7.00X16 NDMS, of recent manufacturing date, I would love to pick up 5 of them!!

When i was gathering info(on team-bhp) about buying a set of AT tires, i was told that michelin LTX AT's lack sidewall protection and are suitable for only mild offroading.

These tyres were promised to me by the thye dealers in Mayapuri, not the MRF dealer, which is at the red light, but the one after that. He asked me to give him an advance of 3k and he will deliver the tyres in a weeks max. He was referring to these as "jeep goddie" and they were not MRF's but Apollo or some other brand.
But do you think that these(NDMS) tyres are good for a 550? The height is 30". Should i go in for these or the yokos are better.
The Miclelin's are out of my budget and I had a chat with Mandeep and he advised me to go for either Goodyear Wanglers or BFGoodrich as a second choices but the Goodyears are not available in 16" rims. I want about 31" 11" 16" which are equivlant to 275/70/16's. And BFGoodrich's are available a max of 235's in 16".
The choice that I am left with are either yokos or NDMS's

GTO has been using the Michelin in his jeep and his experiences have been rather good with these tyres; but anyways, they are the costliest in the lot! Non-availability of Goodyear wrangler in 16'' is sad news, as the goodyear AT/R tyres are lower on cost and good allround tyres. Even the BF goodrich will also not be less than 6-6.5k i guess (if anyone knows the price please confirm). May god arrange for some lower cost A/T tyres (like trammway has found the chinese ones) for the poor souls like me:D
