Yeah, its going to get very complicated.
I assume Mexxentric is going to go the carb way.
@ Mexx: Did you think about using the gearbox casing of the baleno?

I am transplanting an MPFI 1.6 l engine only.
The wiring part is a bit challenging than the mechanical works.
But my mech. is quiet confident about the project.
The ECM and wiring (to sensors) will be removed and kept safe while the engine is being transplanted. It will be reconnected only at the fiinal stage.

Since the transplant is happening from a donor vehicle( not installing an engine procured alone.) , less hazels are expected.

After all we got a team of experts here na?

Updates.

The donor's engine ( 1.6l) is separated from G.B and taken out.
From rough measurements. the flywheel fits in the King's G.B bell housing.
(its going to be a bolt on fitting )

Now comes the clutch. Which clutch plate is advisable? Gypsy's or Baleno's

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...t-changed.html

From this thread I understand that esteem's and baleno's clutch plates are interchangeable.
If its so, will baleno's clutch fit in the Gypsy King's power transmission shaft?

some photos of the donor.

I am still searching for the gear ratios of baleno's gear box.

Sorry

Friends,
I apologize for a mistake from my side.
The baleno's flywheel is a way bigger to be accommodated in Gypsy's gear box.
i've to use the 1.3l engine's flywheel & clutch plate.

Are you sure you can use the flywheel of the 1.3L engine on the Baleno engine? I think there could be problems.

The clutch may be the same on the Esteem and Baleno...they can be designed to operate on a range of power/torque values, but a flywheel may be less tolerant to changes in operating parameters.

In similar mods done in U.K, they have used the 1.3l engine's flywheel in 1.6l engine.
I guess that the rpm of the engine will be the stress parameter.
will a dynamic balancing of the flywheel solve the problem?

Shall I jump in the forum for other way around concept as engineering point of view discussion will be vice versa.

I met with an accident and had to divert my fund of 4X4 unexpectedly for sedan and got an SX4. Now my accent is repaired and back in business.

After preface, lets talk business is it possible to convert SX4 4x2 to 4X4 if so I am interested??

The SX4 in foreign is famous and liked as 4x4 Hatch and the model in india the sedan is introduced as Suzuki Balano.

Can it Be Legally Endrosed?

Iam curious to know if its possible to get the engine change endrosed in R.C book?

I heard that there is one provision that permits Engine change ( an engine with different specifications) if the manufacturer of the vehicle is no longer producing the same engine.

In vintage cars this is generally done.

Any clue on this?

Hi,
Engine change can be endorsed in the RC book. As much I know, you need to produce a bill from where you had bought the engine. If you had taken it from scrap or from another vehicle, you can as well manage to produce a bill from any auto part trader by paying him for what ever will cost him as tax. Only thing to be observed is that you cannot record a change in engine and chassis simultaneously in the same occassion. There needs to be a gap of at least 6 months between the two. But dont worry about all there. Almost every agent will be able to do this for you.
BTW it is a fantastic job what you have been doing, and my best wishes for the successful completion of the same.

:-(

The project is crawling because.
I couldn't find a nice Wide Track gypsy matching my expectations.( minimum rust and well maintained)
I just can't go ahead with

The current challenge is the lengthy water outlet. The assembly houses temperature sensor also

The current plan is to modify the part marked in red. The straight pipe will be cut short, threaded and a mandrel bent U pipe will be attached to save 5 cm of space.also, the new water outlet will be facing front of the vehicle.

The temperature sensor housing(marked green) will be kept undisturbed
