My friend in US outsourced it for me.
Product code:233904
There are many online suppliers for the tacho.
Find the installation manual as attachment
My electrician has traced the wire from ECM which used to feed the OE tacho. in baleno's console. So this new tacho installation should be a bolt on deal.

Hey , whats are the pros and cons of converting a gypsy 410 to 416(baleno). How good is it for using this setup for OTRs

I feel 410W will be a better model for 416 conversion.

Apart from this you have to get king GB(with king clutch) + King Transfer case + Baleno Engine(with ECM, manifold) or only Baleno Engine and convert it to CARB.

Mods: Edit button is disabled. Hence back to back posts.

karizma9292: Even the 410W/410 radiator has to replaced with a bigger one as the engine gets heated up very soon.

When my engine got seized i thought of 416 but realised not many mech are interested in such job specially MPFI conversion.

And you need to run around a lot and spend a lot of money.

If you need king GB + transfer case let me know. Last time when i enquired i was told 18k for only King GB.

Look for a 'G16xx' embossed on the side of the engine block, just below the head.

Thanks nitrous , i found out it has marking which says G15A on the side where the gearbox mounts . I thought balenos were G16B . MY bro says the initial balenos which came out had Japenese made engine which were 1500cc (1493cc) . Is it true?

Check for the cooling water outlet. it should be on the flywheel side of the engine block.

Baleno is front driven & so engine is cross mounted.
The same engine need to be mounted longitudinally in gypsy.

MexXxentric, Congrats bro. Finally your dream came true! right ? Glad that I could also be part of it.

I still miss this beauty. My Albino Gypsy.

Kudos for the excellent fit and finish. Very clean engine bay, concealed wiring and the FFE looks too good. Rajiv has done an excellent job with the FFE.

Now waiting for the final pics and a TD Report.Did you manage to get alloys and tyres?

Thanks Shibu,

Albino got a stronger heart & so is rechristened 'Falcon'

Even though it took he!! lot of time & patience, the outcome is worthy.
major share of the credit goes to Aswin(ashvar87)'s effort.
Rajiv gave me FFE as promised. Less noise & low grunt.

Initial test drive report-

its a torquey & brisk ride.

I got the feel of riding an RX 100. a two stroke feel.
Driving in city was fun.
I was getting wheel spins when ever i was hard on throttle. ( tyre condition was average & there was no load in rear)

The final drive ratio is bit short now. I could get the vehicle moving in 2nd gear itself with out throttling. and the 5th gear feels like 4th in MG410.

Now he is wearing 215/70 rubbers on 15 inch rims.

I didnt install tacho & so cant comment on engine speed v/s road speed readings.
The current set-up feels appropriate for offroad use.

I am planning for rim & tyre upgrade so that he will be more road friendly i can get the first gear back. ( im sad tat i couldnt get crawler gears)

16" rims with 139.7 PDC (-ive offset) are next on my wish list. 've not decided how wide the rubber should be.

From the day I started this project, many of my friends had a question " what will be the fuel average?"

On a drive from Erode to Kollam, Falcon returned 16kmp

I hope that this will 'improve' once I upsize my wheels

Experts please suggest tyre upgrade options.
