I have been steadily working on the Wagon and the body work is progressing!
I ran into a bit of a pickle when I realised that I could not fit a big enough vacuum brake booster inside the engine bay due to space constraints. I decided to fix a Swaraj mazda brake assembly which fits inside the passenger area which would give me sufficient braking power.
I have also fitted a Pajero, collapsible steering wheel assembly.
The side fenders have also been extended.

-The Safari chassis is reasonably good at articulation so this should do pretty well Offroad. Have you done something to the front suspension to account for the extra weight of the 14B?
-Please ensure you've one part from every car manufacturer used in this monster!
So far we've Tata, DCM Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi and a few more that I forget. It's only fair

It is helping me to think for my dream of making a Jeep of my own . This thread is a great learning experience . I will have to save every page of this for references even offline .

A small Query , what kind of Braking Setup you are using for this monster ? I am interested in knowing the TMC specs & the wheel cyl specs .

I am watching & some day I might turn up to your place to see ( feel ) this in flesh , dont be surprised

btw what class they are applying for the trailer registration ? hope its already registered .

We are finding rust at every stage and hidden nook and that is slowing down progress!! The Safari has a little better articulation when the sway bar is removed and I will have to figure out a way to do that quickly. As the front suspension is Tosion bar sprung, I can adjust easily. The engine weight can be compensated by using the 3.0 dicor torsion bars, I guess!

Sudarshan, I am in the process of up-grading to the Safari 2.2 front brake setup with ventilated discs and two pot calipers. I am fairly sure that along with the Mazda booster/MC setup, the braking will be sufficient.
The rear however, I am not touching for the present. Ideally I would like to have discs at the rear, and the rear diff from the Aria 4X4 (with LSD) is something I am looking at, if I manage to get the matching diff ratio.
I have written to Spicer and they have not bothered to even acknowledge my mail!
To be honest, I have no idea how my trailer will be registered. I only know that it will have its own number and will be registered as a 1/4 ton trailer.

Are you planning on a way to enable/disable sway bars on the Safari? I ask because it would be a scary proposition to drive one without it. Long time back when I had a Sierra and the rear sway bar came off from one side on the highway and driving/overtaking felt, for lack of a better word, highly-dramatic!

I had read this story just as you had started off. And even at the current point one can see how amazing the end product is gonna be!

Are you still taking suggestions for colours???? (Don't wanna be chota muh badi baat, but I get really excited )

My suggestion (all two tone) -

1) A rich, but slightly darker Blue with white/cream. (taking into account your daughters choice)

2) Medium grey with white/cream.

3) Deep grey with blue

4) Slightly funky - Deep grey with maroon / red

1 inch gap Santosh. Is that in-sufficient? If more space is required I may have to use an electric fan.
