Is it the Gurkha???

I have my doubts:Frustrati

The headlights look like the old Gurkha, but what's with the mis-spelt sticker (Gorkha)?

Gurkha with OM 611 will be out in October 2008!

So guys keep your fingers crossed whoever wants one! And of course please do not compare it with other vehicles...The best thing to do is to compare apple to apple and orange to orange. it is an out and out offroader where as Scorpio or Safari are hybrids. What a Gurkha can do they can't.

My Safari is crap when I drove Gurkha's Gurkha! His ten year old Gurkha had better ride quality than my year old safari.

If you want luxry and driving is 95% city and 5% off roading then it is safari or scorpio might be even Sumo grande for you. But if it is even 25-30% off roading then Gurkha would be one to go for.

Choice is yours!cheers:

Don't hold your breath with regards to Gurkha schedules, they are capable of delaying it by years.

I have noted this point about ride comfort in my Gurkha TD: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...-road-too.html

I think they haven't updated their website yet...

Their 'powerpack manufacturing' details under 'Areas of excellence' still shows them manufacturing OM616 engines and G1-18 Gearbox. This is obviously old news, and has been replaced by OM611 and G32 5speed gearbox.

Meanwhile this news has also been confirmed by BHPian with i.d. Gurkha here. And he posted this on Sept 2005

Meanwhile I have shot off a mail to the VP, ForceMotors....Awaiting Reply

Being an impatient sort, I have spoken over phone to one Mr. Jayprakash Jetley, Manager of Tempo Automobiles, New Delhi. (Force Motors Dealer) and he has confirmed that Gurkha with OM611 Engine is available on special order with 1 month waiting !

I do not think it is still available. october 2008 is the new date given. Earlier they gave me May 2007. I have been waiting for them to release this vehicle since 2006 November:Frustrati

Hi has anyone from bombay got the delivery of the car. It seems the first person who booked the car hasnt yet taken the delivery its still there at navnit motors showroom. Sounds strange its been a month and the person still doesnt have any issues keeping it there. If i had been there i would take it the next day i get the registration done. Any idea how long is the waiting period for the car.
Regarding the OM611 god knows when it will be launched might be by november this year cant say as they never stick to thier word.
Has anyone been to Auto expo 08 Force Motors Stall heard they had cars on display , any pics if you do have please post it.

Just dropped into Khivraj in Bangalore. They said they have five Gurkha's on order with no response from Force regarding the delivery dates.

He also mentioned that BSIII engines are not available and hence they are unable to sell Gama's or Cruisers unless the buyer can provide a rural address to register the BS II engine.

As much as I like the Gurkha, Force motors is one sorry company to say the least. I wish Mahindra or Tata made a true 4x4 recreational vehicle. The attitude of Force motors is almost making me regret my decision to buy the Gurkha

For those of you waiting for the OM611 I suggest moving on. If these idiots can't even get the BSIII engines out to dealers maybe our grand kids can order Gurkha's with OM611 engines.

I agree with you entirely agree:. The approach of this company is really pathetic.

Nonchalant would better describe their attitude. Their main money comes from Tempo traveller, Crusier and Minidor, so they dont care about other product lines.

But I must say that the service and spares people go above and beyond their duties to help me out. It is moving. I should say that they give me excellent service INSPITE of forcemotors . That includes Khivraj too. They gave me excellent service INSPITE of forcemotors

BTW, I flew to Pune twice to convince them to give me a vehicle

Does anyone have the latest on whether the Gurkha is officially released for sale in India and if they have started deliveries? The regional office has no details about when they can deliver if one is to order.

Please check the following thread :

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...-road-too.html

Also, 4x4addict has booked one, and is expecting delivery soon (soon... by Force Motors standards :-)). Please PM him for more details.

Hi the latest update;

Force motors is making facilities for engine & gear box plant in pithampur itself, which is expected to get ready by september 08. by that time the new chassis of rectangular tube is getting ready which is done by caparo engg. still no updates on any body change.

So one can expect a new trax by december 08 with new engine / gear box & chassis.
