I feel like like a prisoner freed, rather, jail-break' out of prison!! Like a hostage out of the capture, hmm cant think of more examples. One shouldnt get used to the comfort zone, once in a while get out of it and see what it feels like to miss it!!

I felt so relived and happy to finally get back to my mechanic, out of the clasps of the tinker/painter place...!! Now, should take a week more for wiring, misc fittings and some jugaad innovation and some critical installation... hopefully just in time ready for off-roading time...

nice & bright color svs clap:. put an army rim on it it will look great. Dr. got a roll cage ?

@Santosh,
Very beautiful indeed. Why not go for new wiring itself, having spent a lot on rebuilding, does not make sense if you hold onto old wiring, old wires may short circuit after having been removed from its original snug fitting, may strand you in middle of no where considering our out of city OTR locations. However its your call. My 540 wiring+hardware cost me Rs 9400 not including starter motor rework.
What is the contraption in red color in pic no 3? The shadow beneath gives the impression of some kind of towing bar. Where did you get it ,how it cost?

Restoring the old wiring, yes there were a lot of burnt out places exposing the copper inside. But dont worry, will bring it upto reliable condition.

WHY 9400??? A new 540 wiring harness costs 1350Rs, throw in MAX 2K more for fuse boxes, fuses, relays, etc etc, should be done at 5K max, thats what Raju charges on average for any jeep!!

And 'LOT on rebuilding' - no, just a shade over 10K, cant spend 10K for wiring!!

Surprised you didnt notice it among bangy guyz earlier. It is a 'swastik fabrication' product, a standard jeep tow bar, its in classifieds in tbhp section, costs around 5-6K... No i dont own it, borrowed it from a generous gentleman - swastik - thanks aavare!!

SVS, are you taking your Jeep for AKC / EXAMM? If yes, please keep Mr. Murphy in loop.

Spike:)

Was watching the thread closely. Man I personally feel that we age a couple of years while these clowns finally finish working on our jeeps! Must b a big relief huh, finally getting it out of there? Looks good now. Here is to hoping that you don't need to wait much longer to doing the towing (rather than getting towed!!!):D

Yes that is the just fabricated- roll cage. All thanks to Santosh for designing and getting it done for me. Mohan G from our forum also helped a lot in doing the roll cage.

@Thats a cool and simple roll cage Santosh. Does it not extend to the front of the cabin also? Im actually wondering for my MM whether i really need a cage extending to the front cabin or the Type roll bar/metal sheet will do.

This is almost or rather very very similar to the OE red on the CJ340. Good choice.

Gogi, this does extend to the front cabin too, with the doors, it is too close for comfort and very close to the accelarator pedal. I did not have resources to do a bend in A-Pillar (of the roll cage) and make a slant at the base to end up near the firewall. So made a vertical drop from top... wait for a day more, will post more pics of this 540 roll cage in detail.

Thanks...

Waiting sir! It looks like it does not extend to the front but then if there is a way to get it out of the way of the accelerator pedal and if it does not interfere with the passenger or the doors, im game!!

Ill await detailed in cabin pics.

Gogi
Let me try to explain, if you want to retain the door then it is difficult to have good leg room. It will not be very comfortable for the driver as the A pillar leg will be 2" away from the ACC pedal. Also since the A pillar is at lower level than the B pillar get ready to lose some head room also.
I am trying to design something where i dont have to compromise on space.
