Quick update:

Odo stands at 6108 km. Started cycling from 15th July and per day mileage stands at 25.44

Highlights: Did Tour of Tamilnadu in December and covered 750 odd km in 6 days; covered a distance of 419km in 23 hours (did 400km as part of brevet).

Low-lights: Not riding regularly anymore. Nov/Dec/Jan were pretty bad in terms of regularity. Not riding during weekdays anymore. Most importantly I haven't lost much weight. Still my scale reads 75kg.

Re: The Bicycles thread

That's because you're almost there. if you were significantly overweight, you'd show more progress.

Congrats Yogi. The pain will go after few days. You shouldnt have got those silly gel saddle pads. They are useless. The bums williew get used to it quickly.

btw whats the frame size and also your height? From the view in snap, it looks like the frame is bigger for you or you have not set it up correctly.

Well, as you said you have not reduced weight because you are not riding regularly. Doing some cycling events will not gurantee you weight loss, it's regular workout which does the magic. Do it for 6 months and let me know if you have not gone down by 4-5kgs, of course assuming you keep your diet as before.

Re: The Bicycles thread

Delhi/Mumbai guys, are you having Brevets as well in your city?

Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai are having I know. Hyderabad is done with series of 200, 300, 400 and 600 and has quite a few Super Randonneurs. Next in line is 1000Kms and is being planned as a one way ride rather than return.

@Tifosi: You need to tell us your Brevet story. I'm sure it will motivate a lot of folks.

Cheers

Re: The Bicycles thread

oye MC,

Delhi's had its 600 as well and we have only a couple of SUper randonneurs though. Mumbai was 2nd on the scene after Pune (though it fizzled out in my reading)!!!

That said, guys on the fence, buy your bikes now. Our finance minister has KILLED the import cycles industry in India. I just cannot describe the import of his populist actions!

Re: The Bicycles thread

What would be the price of a new Kenda tire for my Cannondale Quick 5(2010 model).

Notice a large deformity on the front tire. It has done around 2100 kms. :(

Has the tire lost it's shape and do you feel the thud for every rotation? If yes, I had the same problem in my rear tire after running close 5k km and got it changed. After 5.5k it appeared in the front tire as well.

I think it's a manufacturing defect.

Please note, this is not a pic of my cycle.
Its something I picked up from here.

Is there any possibility of a warranty claim?

Same pinch. After seeing your post, wrote a mail to tntsupport@tii.murugappa.com (actual address given in trackandtrail is customercare@trackandtrail.in, but when i click on the hyperlink, it changes to tntsupport) asking for replacement. You can give it a try too...
