I thought you just took delivery of your c class? Ideally you should ask for a more recently manufactured vehicle as a five month old car may have issues, unless they are giving some benefit additional here.

Since this is Jan 2012,I doubt that's the case?

Yes - did take the C class some two weeks ago - but need an everyday sedan, exclusive for myself (C is family partially chauffeur driven) so got a Vento, I wanted Black one he had only one in stock which was 5 months old - I insisted on VIN before registeration in my name, after which I found out it's 5 months old - he insists it was billed to him in April, but is not willing to show any proof - hence I switched to a April manufactured Silver one, the March manufactured Blue one he had was Fenurary manufactured and the blue din't appeal to me as much.

I think I caught the dealer who had got the car in Jan/Feb but was billing it in April (post budget) and saving the excise! These guys, if one is not careful you can easily be taken for a ride, thanks to the PDI Checklist - I outsmarted them! Proud BHPian moment :-D
