Ah so. Well then take my second advice about 5.5" hole reduced to 4.75" on the front door and the same advice will work.

Hi All,
Just got back from the dealer today...Booked a spanking new 2007 Azure grey swift Zxi...Delivery will be in 3 weeks time(sigh...)Was originally planning to go for a stock sound system from the dealer ( sony HU and sony 2 way coaxs) but to my good luck(or was it bad???) chanced upon this forum while googling for speaker reviews...After spending many a night and digging through a ton of threads, I have changed my mind completely...Must say I am amazed by the wealth of information available in this forum and the willingness of BHPians to help/educate others. Simply Awesome!!!

Well I've decided on the following configuration so far (comments invited..)

Pioneer HU - 6850 (might get the 6900 through a friend who is returning from the states, if the pioneer warranty is gobal)
Front - JBL607 components
Rear - JBL GTO637 3 way coaxs

Decided not to go for a separate woofer ( I'm not big on the Bass thing, I like listening to light rock, R&B, Pop ). Might upgrade to an Amp at a later stage if I'm not satisfied with the current sound.

At this point I'm looking to see what my options are for purchasing the system and installing it here in South Mumbai. The maruti dealers in my area have flat out refused to install any electronics not purchased from them( they do not stock the JBLs..and the less said about their prices the better).

Can anyone help me out with advice on where to buy the stuff from with B&W and where to get it installed ? Also I would prefer having the tweeters for the front components installed into the door or into the A pillar. I definitely don't want them stuck to the dash/A pillar with duct tape, with wires visible. I need help in finding a good installer to set me up without voiding my warranty.

thanks in advance

sam sir, thanks...I took out the GTO507C (3 months old) from my wagonr and went to Pritam (Sound Factor). He charged me 1500Rs. for a upgrade to GTO607C (price difference Rs.1000), which means he just deducted Rs.500 for using the 507C for 3 months, which impressed me. Now i have GTO607C (6 inch components) in front and GTO937 (6X9) in rear mated with my 3 month old Pio 6850 and a Pio wireless steering remote. Thats awesome!!! Enjoying music and new car at the same time.

vid, that was my mistake, instead on mentioning GTO607C (Componenents), i mentioned GTO637. I mixed up the model numbers. WagonR doesnt have any speakers in the front as of now, only the Sony 6X9 in the rear.

He should hear Infinity, Boston, Hertz, Blaupunkt's Velocity, Alpine (R series) etc. and decide what suits him best.

6" components in the front mated to 6" coax in the rear would be my bet. The components would be about 7K and the coax about 4K.
I am planning a similar setup for our Swift with a pioneer 6850 HU. My question is do i have to use an amp too for such a setup with Compos in the front and co-ax speakers and no sub. I'm very weak in all this ICE stuff, please help me

@sridhar, an amp is not exactly a neccessity (esp. since you don't want a sub), but the components will sound a lot better when they are amped. You can probably get the speakers now, and add an amp later (if you feel like it).

JBL

Can anyone help me out with advice on where to buy the stuff from with B&W and where to get it installed ?
Hello CPR,

welcome You seems to be doing OK on choices. The 6850 is a lovely deck, will be eventually replaced by the 6950 which is a good HU too, only no motorised panel.

Where in mumbai would you prefer to buy from? Where do you stay?

Hi Sam,
I stay at Charni Road (south Mumbai). I don't mind buying the stuff from any where in Mumbai as long as the same person does the install also.(that way there is more accountability). However the swift does not come with speaker provisions for the tweeters in the doors, so the installer must be capable/willing to flush mount it into the A pillar or front door without voiding the maruti warranty.

Have any of you had wiring harnesses used in your Swift installation? (To avoid chopping wires and voiding warranty )

Where are they available? Most of the regular accessory walla's probably have never bothered to use them.

^^ Pic lifted from Sam's Verna Install

Guys Guys guys...I know the better installers all stock it. But my friend whose getting his SwiftDDis next week is only getting a very basic setup done( at some JC.Road guy his dad is friends with)

Soooooo im wondering where in the market(automobile stores etc) one can find it rather than buying it from places like Car Shringar/EB Bass etc. I will go try at some Maruti/Suzuki spares dealers.
