Hi Gunbir,

How do you rate the Audio Tweaking capabilities of AVX800 and an idea of Street price w/o B&W ?

Also, do we have any such option in such price band ?

Ash, the AVX-800/900 have nice features. As far as Audio tweaking goes, it has a five (IIRC) band GEQ, global HPF/LPF 80/120/150Hz (IIRC), Time delay on the 5ch (not on sub channel) etc. Which I think is pretty decent considering the sub-25k street price. It sells like hot cakes cuz there arent many any other units that can do all this for this much, that too with decent SQ.

Thanks Gunbir, it was pretty descriptive.. What is your opinion if I pick up AVX-700/706 in-lieu of AVX-800/900 as i am not so much touch-screen/bluetooth fanatic (Which i think will be more prone to go kaput in long-term), Am i going to loose anything much more then these two things ?

HK returns with a promise of freshly engineered, beautifully built, 100% pure SQ amplifiers. Classic? You betcha.

Chins up, boys, tongues back in your mouths. And wipe that saliva off while you're at it.

Expected sometime in 2008. Availability: Hard to get.

Except for DVD playback capability, I see very few changes. I compared it with P88 and the P88 had a few features more.

EDIT: Just saw your post, LBM.

Looks very nice, Gunbir paaji. It would be great to buy one. Is this similar to HK's Drive+Play? I am asking because I've never used a D+P.

The site says $200 and out of stock. Already. lol.

Alpine announces iDA-X200 and X300 iPod-friendly headunits for 2008

Alpine announces iDA-X200 and X300 iPod-friendly headunits for 2008

Quote:
Alpine's cutting straight to the chase with its new iDA-X200 and iDA-X300 headunits. Forgoing a CD mechanism entirely, the two systems are designed primarily for use with an iPod, though they do pack a few extra goodies. The X200 works with Alpine's Sound Imprint system for some fancy DSP, while the X300 has USB input for pulling media off of non-iPod sources. No word on price or availability.

The Display is not fancy-pants, so I think we can expect reasonable prices for these (for the one without IMPRINT, I mean).
