Well, Slowly things are moving.
One good news is that the guy who's bringing the HU and the Stinger wiring is coming down in the last week of July, so the wait time reduces.

For the Front Illusion Electra tweeters, they gave me a helluva time last 2 weeks. I had fixed them using double sided tapes. Now, every morning I would find one of them, at times both fallen of the wall. So decided to go for a tweeter stand fabricated (like the one ShuvC has in his Car). Thanks to Ajay for having the stands fabricated.
Right now, there are a few options floating for the Amp.

An aquaintance of mine was looking for a buyer for his JBL GT 75.4 Amp. This could not have come a better time since I was in the process of confirming the orders. Since I would get some time in hand ven if I wanted to get the GZTA4.120MK2 Amp, so I decided to try the 75.4 on my car, As the guy said that he would let me hook it up on my car. At the same time I am also checking out the JBL GTO1004. This one is supposedly successor of 75.4 and
has a few good reviews in a few threads. So it seems that I might as well settle down for the the 1004 too. Still a bit undecided(man, this is tough).

So I went ahead and ordered for the rest of the stuff. I have added a Neutrik Speakon to the list, as that comes real handy if you want to pull your sub out of the system, to temporarily get some boot space.

So currently the items and price distribution goes this way.

Now suggestions are required for the layout of the above mentioned in the Indica Boot. I would actually need suggestions to layout the amps. Please gurus, any ideas for a clean layout. I want to stay away from making the boot a battlefield of cables and wires.

@Nura : Doc , thanks a million tons for the contacts of the mdf board maker at Chandni Market and the installer for the HU. These are really valuable info for me.

@Razor : Thanks a ton for agreeing to help me out with the damping DIY coming up.

@ShuvD : Thanks for all the help ( you know what)

@ShuvC : Thanks for bearing with all those calls at odd hours.

I am extremely sorry for not having posted any pics till date. However, please bear with me, I promise a lot of pics coming up.

Suggestion/Advice required.
Can anyone tell me if an aftermarket Steering wheel mounted remote is available for Alpine HUs?

Suggestion/Advice Required on Mounting Amp behind Indica

Well, more or less next weekend I intend to start installing the items.
Status of installs

Phase 1.(Completed just before the thread started)
1. JBL GTO937 Rears Ovals
2. JBL CS 60.2
3. Illusion Electra 5.25" components

Phase 2. - Target Date (12-13 July 2008)
1. JBL GTO1004 4 Ch Amp ( finally settled down with this one)
2. Ground Zero TW 12Mk2 12" Subwoofer in a sealed box
3. Noise Kill Damping on Front two doors

Phase 3. - Target Date(1st Week of August(?))
1. Alpine CDA 9886 HU installation
2. Current wiring replacement with Stinger Kit

Now Gurus I need advice on fixing the two amps behind the Indica Back Seat. If there is any existing thread then please pardon my ignorance. Please let me know the link in that case.

@Nura - Doc I will check out the Chandni guy sometime this week. I have taken the measurements. I am just looking out for options. The Indica Xeta back seat has a 60-40 split. So I would need two smaller sized MDF boards, for the amps.

Please see the attached photo and suggest which would be a correct way of positioning the amps behind the rear seat?

The first one, from the p-o-v of ease of wiring.

if you can stack the amps like Der Alte said (horizontally) but one above the other.

the rear seat is usually 60:40. Use the larger (60%) seat back.

This will allow you to bring in the RCA wire from the left side of the car and the power wires from the right side of the car.

@ DerAlte & Navin : Thanks a ton for the advice. I would do that accordingly.

Just a thought. I might be wrong too. Considering the height of the Indica Seta back rest, if I place the amps one above the other, I mean arrange them in a column, in that case the amps would be too close to each other. Would the heat generated from each of them be an issue for each other?

Pics of a few of the items

The Noise Kill Damping material, Amp and the sub arrived today. I am posting a few photos of the same. I had asked Ajay to have Neautrik Speakon connector custom fitted in the sealed box, so that if I need the boot of the Xeta, I can disconnect the Sub in a moment. That has been done in a nice way.

Now the problem is that I dont understand which one of the Sub terminals are +ve and which one is -ve. I guess will have to take out the neutrik female connector from the sub body and peer through the hole with a strong light to check that. Or am I being too dumb.

I got a scare when I opened the huge package today. The speaker grill was bent as if A WWF wrestler had fought with it and was bent inward into the Sub!! I was scared to my wits and thought that the sub had gone for a toss. However on slowly removing the sub grill. I found that Mr. GZTW 12MK2 was absolutley safe after such a rough journey from Mumbai to Kolkata. The

The GTO 1004 amp was sourced from Kolkata.
@My friend and fellow bhpian ShuvD, thanks a million tonnes for all the help, and kindly agreeing to pick the amp up from the shop. Thanks for living through so many calls for the past few days.

@ Navin : Oh! Wow! Navinji. I should have read this post before I connected the ampand the sub today. Unfortunately, didn't check the forum this morning.

I installed the Amp and the sub this morning. Not much work. Just replaced the Sony Amp and the Sub. A temporary setup , this is. After the alpine HU and the Stinger wiring reaches me. I will have to fix an MDF board and then fix the amps onto that. The boot space is absolutely cramped now. Its a battle field of wires.

However, my two hours of installation and adjustment really payed off. I was surprised by the difference in SQ. Now I know why SONY is detested by the Audiophiles. My god! I heard jingles and notes I never heard before.

The damping is yet to be done. I plan to do that next week. Here are some pictures of the temporary setup.

I've found that using something to seal the base of the speakers , as well as the holes for the stock mounting grille helped improve the mids and the midbass ( and decrease some vibration)

how and why I did it in this page
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/ask-gu...tml#post822657
and pics in this post
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/824669-post47.html

Can you post a pic of the sub in the boot ? I'm curious as to how much usable space will be left...

What will happen to original purpose of 60-40 split if you mount Amps at the back of 60-40 split seats? Does it mean that you can not effectively fold the seat?
