Nitin its better to get custom made box according to specs. Almost all the JBL subs require 1cubic feet box around 29 ltrs Sealed box. You can get one easily.

Regarding cables you will need:
- Power cable x 1
- RCA x 2 (if you are going for 4 ch amp and wanna connect 1 set speakers too)
- 3 - 4 foot of speaker cable for connecting sub to amp.

You can use L&T or Finolex cable as power cable. It will cost around Rs 500 at max for 4 gauge. RCA even desi boss one works good if you dont wanna spend too much money on wiring. Any speaker cable costing rs 10 per feet will do for connecting sub to amp.

Total wiring will cost around ~1k

Don't go for DESI ALPINE AMP if you wanna spend money 1 time. The Blau amp suggested by chirag is very good considering its costing 4.8k with B/W but it might just be too big for an Alto, not sure though (it looks big).

So current cost breakup

Amp - 4.5 -5K
Sub - 2.5k - 2.8K
Wiring - ~1K
Install - Rs 500 - 1000

Whooping 1.8K above budget. Welcome to ICE section

AFAIK higher RMS values doesn't always means better sub.

nitin
You can go for GTA4 amp, recently i brought it (2nd hand). I had JBL CS60.2 driving my CS1204 SUB. It is sounding better with GTA 4 now.
Cost was 2200Rs for CS1204, 3000Rs for JBL CS60.2, DIY mdf box around 500Rs, Power wire (used Teflon coated wire rated 60A 5mtr) 50Rs/mtr,If you can try for MX RCA 300Rs or EFX 500-600Rs, In line blade fuse+holder 100Rs, speaker wire 75Rs/mtr 12gauge MX.hope this helps.

Thanks for the exhaustive reply Abhib.
* The pics you psoted are not showing up. Perhaps some issue with the TBHP.

Mohang_J, even I am thinking on that lines. I should look out in the classified section more often :P

BTW I have Dynamat Door Kit lying with me. Since I am not using any speakers in the doors (the polk 4 inchers are in the dash / stock location). I am planning to sell that for 4K and can increase the budget.
Is it advisable??

Please!!!! They're NOT delhi made fake stuff, they are imported from China. Delhi has its own pride of "genuine" Ahuja speakers!

Wake up guys. The thread is going astray.

Anyway, from my research, I found that its not a good idea to buy a "chalu" amplifier and a sub, for just the sake of it.

I have changed my plan. I am now planning to go only for an amplifier for the nonce. Hoping that the current setup will sound better. I'll add an amp later.

Now in the same budget (8K), I need a 4 channel amplifier + wiring.
The wiring should be like if at anytime i get a sub, i should be able to hook it in directly, without going to an installer. So assume that I am addind everything including a 4channel amp, wiring and a sub, just that the sub has been put out of the boot for a while :P

Any choices now ?

Also since two channels of the sub will be bridged for the sub, will it be better to amplify the fronts or the rears, from the rest of the 2 channels ?

The fronts are 4 inchers but I have heard people saying that they sound lot better when fed properly.

The rears are also grt speakers but then I think that when I'll buy a sub, the rear fill will automatically be taken care of.

ANybody have a different opinion / suggestions ?

Nice to see that you have done research and not buying DESI amp.

Again u have 3 options for amp.
1. Blau MKII
2. JBL A604
3. Kenwood 8401

Choose the one that fits your budget. All of them sound similar.

As for wiring if you don't wanna spend too much on the wiring kit like 4 - 5K for schosche, then Get L&T, Finolex 4 gauge power cable from local electrical shop and buy thimbles.

RCA x 2 (if you want to power both front and rear speakers with amp), SPK cable, Sub cable, fuse from scosche.

Cost will be around 7-7.5K for all the stuff.
