Can the experts, please, suggest me how is this JBL sub ?

I was just browing through Ebay and found this item.

eBay India: JBL GT5-1204BR Subwoofers (item 260355075256 end time 07-Feb-2009 16:42:27 IST)

I am not sure if this one will be worth the price but I am sure it will be better than the hand made box. Again this one looks better and I guess will fit well in Alto's boot.

Since its a GT-5 series stuff, I am sure its of better quality.

Has anybody seen it/tried it before ? What will be the probable price in grey opr actual with MRP ?

Its Bass Reflex. Will sound much different than a sealed box. Please define your music taste in order for the experts to suggest which enclosure would suit you the best.

If you are going for an off-the-shelf solution like this, do also check out the 1204B and 1204T.

Company made subs-in-enclosures are the best bet for someone who wants a ready-made trustworthy solution. For many other fanatics, like the ones we encounter on TBHP, only a custom made enclosure (i.e. designed as per the subs T-S parameters) shall suffice!

Dont even try to contact Bhagwan to get an opinion on this. You have been warned.

LOL Thanks Nishant.

See I have a kinda ok setup, I just want to add the lower notes to the current sound signature. Again considering the boot space of the alto I have, I want to either avoid sub or get a smaller sub.

Currently I was hoping to add only and amp to boost the SQ but this one looked better and smaller, so got inclined.

BTW any info on the actual pricing of this stuff (since ebay prices are generally higher). Might help me in balancing my budget.

Honestly i think you should add your amp it should give you plenty of lows additional. those polks that your signature says you're running can handle a lot!

Talked to driven, and few other dealers. No amplifier present in the range of 5K. And this one is not cheap. The combo will easily cross my targeted 10K budget for sub and amp, sadly.

Hey can someone tell me if Kenwood 8404 is available in grey ? I got a quote of 9.5K from Driven (I hope he is not taking me to a ride), with B&W. Though this one is too much out of my budget, grey prices might help me achieve my goals

Also can someone help me with the prices of JBL GTO 504, grey and with bill ?

Amp under 8K. Need sugggestions.

After so much of searching and head banging, I have finally dropped an idea of Sub and have increased my budget for an Amp.

I am looking for a sub in sub 8k

At least now I think, I should have some more options.

8401 was what I wanted but thats an extinct specie now so leaving it.

The next gen JBL GTO 504 or 1004 o Kenwood 8404 is what I have primarily in my mind right now, but I am just guessing that they will fall in my said budget.

Do you guys want to sugge3st anything else ?

Please make a note that I am not using the sub right now but will get it soon. And the primary constraint, as always was with me, is the highest possible SQ in the defined budget.

Contribute your ideas guys.

also consider PANASONIC

1004 is waste if you are not adding sub, rather killer for speakers.. and only if you get lucky you will get that for 8k.. i paid 8.5k + shipping

i think JBL 504 should suite you perfectly
