Gurus, a question.
How can one run a JBL 607(70W RMS) on a 75.4(142W RMS) and NOT blow it?
The techniques I know of are:
1. Gains at minimum (or about a notch or two from min.)
2. higher HPF - 80 Hz ok? or does it need 100?

That is not called tuning, which I have hear in few cars. So even when properly tuned with proper slopes and gains setting one can blow there stuff. It depends how you play your setup.

As Panky clearly mentioned he was under the DARU effect which has casued the mishap

Why not set of 2 components in series to make them 4 ohms, even my 607 feels like going to get blowed with 75.4.

tried.. they were so laid back, that even after setting treble to phull, I could hardly listen to highs! so, no rainbows for me!

I seriously recommend you audition my ride once the comps are finalized and then finalize something for yourself..

The Older SLX did not have any cross-over tunning options, The new one now is called SLX Deluxe which has the cross-over from the higher SAX series. These cost 11k something as correctly pointed out by scarlet.fever. What I had in my swift was the older SLX without any options at the Cross-over.

@Panky: You can try the ID CTX Compos, Heard them recently in my friends CRV and they sound a notch bright than the Rainbow SLX, though i find the SLX perfect, according to your listening prefrences you may like the IDs or else you have the Illusions as the perfect option for you

Panky dada Bolo na. Why no illusions??? I think if you found the rainbows laid back and the Jbl bright, the electra is the one for you. Audition them but not on any 'third grade amps' get someone to play them on your 75.4 only. Trust me, they sound great. And you can play the regular chan chan as well as the REAL music and they will deliver the way you want..

Arrey sir, Illusions are a definite in! Was just exploring other options before buying them.

@ m4ugr8: how much does these IDs cost?? They look super -cool with the huge magnets and build quality. I'd love to audition them!

@ notorious: are these the same ones that others are talking about? if so, how come the difference in price?
