If it had been available for what it was before, then it was a steal deal.

The RS-D7 ODR, Is in a different league all together and so is the price I guess

For Me the P80RSII beats the 7200MKII, Having auditioned the both, I prefer the P80RSII to my listening taste plus I dont think The Eclipse does justice to the price it retails at, Even at 30k its overpriced. The Price difference is not met in terms of the SQ difference between the two.

Everything also depends on what equipment the Head Units are paired with, Whatever P80s I have heard were complete active setups where as I am still waiting to hear a properly set active Eclipse 7200MKII setup.

@Karan: I am aware about you running Genesis but not sure whether you mentioned your sub is D2 or D4 or I may have missed the info on it.

With the setup you are running I guess the Best bet would be HXD2 or the Eclipse 7200. I heard Eclipse on DLS amp the combo wise, both complemented eachother very well. The staging and imaging was high up, Vocals and mids sound more open with lot depth in it, the midbass sounded clean along with the highs, not harsh at all. I suppose it would do better in those terms along with Genesis. If budget is constraint, than P80RS will do a great job.

X991 is a very good HU but you cannot have an active setup with this HU.

I found Ecllipse better sounding but again the difference is not much. If you wanna save money go for Pioneer P880II. You will enjoy ever bit of it.

Exactly.
It is better and has the advantage of 3 way active, bluetooth, USB and likes. Not sure whether the P80RS can do 3 way active without a processor.
But for the price the P80RS is the way to go.

Hmmm, Yes it can do all the above but with external adapters and can do 3 way active without a processor. One more help please find the current price of P80RSII from your sources.

Yes they are approx 5/6k for one adapter, Ih you want ipod/usd add another 12k to the price. Or its better to add a 12 disc changer (P80RSII supports a changer ?)
