What makes you say you subs were underpowered?

Could you hear the sub hit their Xmax? or the effects (dynamic range compression especially on impulse).

A sub that can absorb 1500W or even 750W at 30hz has to have a very nice suspension. At 300Hz the same is not a problem. Subwoofer ratings are for their thermal limits. However in most cases subwoofers tend to be more limited by the abilties of their spiders, surrounds, etc..

Navin Ji the problem Abhinav was facing that the Sub-woofer amp used to reduce the output when pushed hard. Earlier it was running at 2 ohms and now he is running it at 4 ohms. So the output is better when driving at 4 ohms. Earlier I think the subs were not getting full power so that the XMAX was not reached but not it will be a problem as whole power would be diverted to one sub. Now a little tuning will be required including a HPF also.

This is why I do not like pushing amps at 2 ohms even if they are rated so. Keep them in safe limits and they perform better.

Totally agreed. It is better for the sub also it will get cleaner signal and result in better sound.

WOW! with 2 of them at that given output would be 2400 RMS. GOD! am sure it's gonna shatter lot many glass windows around. What's the SPL gonna be 150+.. makes me wonder.

Ding.
Guys
tested the 14001 again.
Its lowering the volume after 30 volume.

Suggest me some more amps ~2200w rms at 2 ohms or 2 ~1200w rms at 1/4 ohms.

Help.
I am ready to spend around 35000 on the amp. ( after selling my 14001 that is)

No steg for me. ( too costly)
called up LBM , he said it might be due to the excess power supplied to the sub
Will get it checked by him and lets hope things go well.

Great so you are back to square one.
Well to start with if you can source one from the US, may be this would interest you.

Hifonics BXI 2610D - Hifonics 2400W 1 Channel Mono-Block Amplifier

SPL FX1-4000D - SPL 4000 Watt Class D Monoblock Amplifier

or may be the JBL GTO24001
