Also use a Pio in my Santro. No whine in either.
Only trouble as I mentioned was the "disco-light" syndrome when the sub is kicking hard. Just had a thought - if I increase the gain setting on the amp for the sub, will that solve it?

My cousin has just got a new Safari. Some ICE dealer in Lajpat nagar suggested Morel components to him,
How are these speakers and how do they compare to other components in the same price bracket.
He prefers loud music

Eddy.. Lajpat nagar and Morels dont really go together... Morels are very nice speakers. I would be very cautious if buying soemthign like Morels from LNagar as the real stuff is very expensive. Lajpat Nagar is notoriuos for sellign fake ICE. See if it is an authorized dealer /distrubutor and then take the plunge.

He suggested it more as a brand rather than a specific model. But he did mention about 12k for components.

They do not have anything distinctively better to offer. In that price band, there are other brands which are more VFM, as felt by most here who have scanned the market and compared.

For example, JBL, Infinity, Illusion, Blaupunkt, etc. all have
- models with comparable (or for some - better) performance
- lower prices
- established after-sales service outfits.

If one gets them at comparable prices, AND A.S.S. is not considered a major factor, it would be difficult to look negatively at brands like Morel, Polk etc.

Hey Eddy,

My elder brother got Image Dynamics components for 12.5k for his Safari and was blown away by their quality and sound reproduction. I too have heard those speakers in a Chevy Tahoe here in San Diego and find them to be phenomenal VFM speakers.

These are available at Driven @ EOK or you could PM/email Autophile for them.

Just audition them, you'll be impressed too.

I am also heard them in Hellspawn Siena. They were bright to my taste and lacked Midbass. He had also eq the same to reduce the treble and increased the bass to get the desired effect.

They sounded ok to me. Hmm similar to Hertz Energy so why spend more when you get similar thing in 3k less.

Try auditioning few more before finalizing.

Brightness is a visual property and taste is determined orally.. Were you listening to the speakers or looking at them/eating them??

The desired effect was achieved after all. Right?

This is a surprise because I was expecting words like "bad/poor" etc.

That is a very ambigous statement LBM. I find Hertz energy(installed in my friends SX4) very "laid-back". And the ID's, well they are in a different league altogether, IMO.

Sure do Eddy, but what LBM actually meant was audition Illusions if nothing else.

Let us see what Hell spawn has to say on it.

The speakers sounded amazing in Ashish's (rev_hard's brother) safari and wonderful in Hellspawn's siena. In both the cars they never lacked midbass. However in Safari they sounded better because of superior amplifier.

LBM you can also ask Zucchero about his opinion on CTX CS's midbass.

Guys I have said what I wanted to say. No need to argue on the fact. You are happy with your opinion and I am with mine so stop following me.

One thing, I meant the same thanks Anuj

And I seriously mean this for those even who don't plan to buy them. Just give them a listen you will be amazed.

Also I mean to as many models of speakers you can, Eg JBL, Alpine, Blau etc.

Who gave you the authority as when we should start talking and when we should stop.

Who asked for your opinion about the ID Components? Me and lot of other members have a genuine unbiased opinion about your ICE but they don't make it a point to push it in everyones ear.

You are wasting your time in unnecessary opinions which are highly biased. I will make it much simpler here for you by saying what you want to say.

Guys please buy Illusion Audio speakers Electra / Luccent / Carbon along with Steg amplifers. They are the best sounding car audio brands in the entire world.

Happy LBM...now spend you time in tuning your CH-1's .

Not being picky dude.

And if you noticed I quoted that term because it too is blatantly used around here.

Yes it is & I believe thats how people describe a particular equipments output.
Please share if you know other commonly understood terms for the term that you picked on viz Brightness & taste.

It would certainly be beneficial for all

@All: Can we please stick to giving advice to the ones who are asking their queries here. I would really appreciate if the seniors do what they are best at i.e. giving ICE advice & not getting indulged in anything else.
