me thinks both amps aer 50W rms into 4 ohms, 4 channels drive, 20-20kHz, 0.01% distortion.

hey gunbir , can u suggest me some other good subwoofer. within Rs 6500

navin ji u say that they are 50Wrms into 4 ohms, but i have a JBL manual saying,
JBL CS 50.4 is 80Wrms x 4/110Wrms x 2 bridged

and for blaupunkt i saw the amp, and on the box it was mentioned 75Wrms x 4
Please comment,

CAUTION: I am planning to put the sub in the try, does anyone feel like changing my mind. If yes, please explain why not in the tray? and why in the boot?

sorry, for troubling gurus!!!

amit, the power figures you mention do not state distortion or feq. range. power at 10% distortion makes no sense. power only at 1kHz makes no sense.

power must be speced as:
a) RMS not PMPO, Peak, or anything else
b) 4 ohms for car audio
c) 20-20khz
d) distortion 0.1%

JK it totally depends on the sub and the install... I have heard some very well installed PCS (Parcel Shelf Sub) installs using good subs and the integration was very nice.

navin ji thanks for telling me what should i check, before buying an amplifier.
you made a check list of the following

power must be speced as:
a) RMS not PMPO, Peak, or anything else
b) 4 ohms for car audio
c) 20-20khz
d) distortion 0.1%

As told by you, I gathered all the information of JBL and blaupunkt.
Here i go
JBL CS 50.4
Amplifier Type: Multi-Channel
RMS Power @ 4 ohms: 67W x 4
THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: <1 %
Bridged RMS Power @ 4 Ohms :143W x 2
Built In Crossovers: HP/LP
Bass Boost: 0 - 6 dB
Frequency response: 20-20,000 Hz
Signal to noise ratio: 86 dB

Navin ji, you wrote 50 rms into 4 ohms for Blaupunkt. Well 50 x 4 is blaupunkt GTA 450, I am looking for GTA 470. I am providing you with the specification of GTA 470, have a look

Blaupunkt GTA 470
4/3/2-Channel class A/B
RMS Power 4x70 Watts/ 2x200 Watts (4 Ohms)
Frequency response 10 - 26000 Hz
Signal to noise ratio > 90 dBA
Distortion factor < 0.04 %
Input impedance >10 kOhm
Attenuation factor > 100
Input sensitivity 0.3 - 8 V
Stability 2 Ohm (4 Ohm bridged)
Low-pass filter 50 - 250 Hz (12dB/Oktav)
High-pass filter 50 - 250 Hz (12dB/Oktav)
Bass Boost 0 - 12dB at 45 Hz
Inputs 4x RCA gold plated
Outputs 4x loud speakers, gold plated
Dimensions (WxHxD in mm) 290 x 49 x 254

Well i feel that now i am providing you with the proper information about both the amps.

Again i have a pair of pioneer REV range 80W rms (each) speakers as rear speakers.
Planning to put a Alpine 12" sub in parcel tray. HU is blaupunkt.
Keeping this present configuration in mind suggest me, which amp should i go for.

Is JBL CS 50.4 OR Balupunkt GTA 470 OR u suggest (below Rs 10000) ?

THANKS, Amit Baghe

Amit, listen to both amps if you can. Then you will be in a better position to decide. Specs are not everything. Right, Navin?

hi refer to my post #23. Today i cam to know about Boss amplifier. The model which i saw was C800 costing around Rs12000.
Please comment on this Boss C800 amplifier.
Amplifier Type: Multi Channel
RMS Power @ 4ohms: 150 x 4
THD at 4 ohms RMS power: 0.01 %
Bridged RMS power @ 4 ohms: 400W x 2
Speaker Level input: Yes
Preamp output: No
Built-in Crossovers: HP/LP
Bass Boost: 0 - 18 db
Frequency response: 20-20,000Hz
Signal to noise ratio: 102 db

As far a i know Boss is USA company. I went to Juhu today, and there one dealer for car audio. I dont know now the name of the dealer, but his shop is out side SNDT women college, Juhu. This dealer told me that Boss amplifiers are not good and he dosent keep them as they are made in China.
Can guru log throw some light on my findings, an comment on the same.

amit, from the specs you mentioned both amps are about 70W rms (assuming they are over 20-20kHz). even so they are simiarly rated. i would listen to both amps and then decide.
