Well here are some Alpine HUs for you. Thankfully this year they seem to have dropped the infamous 'Glidetouch'.

And i am getting alpine 9853 with 'infamous glidetouch'.

What i have read abt glidetouch is that one needs to get used to it o/w for beginer, its very irritatting sometime.

Thats not hinglish... I know Navin very well. It has to be music, not language he remembers. He remembers the song from Bobby. You know - mein maike chali jaoongi tum dekhte rahiyo

New Alpine products for 2006

Yay...

after a lemon 2005, Alpine has turned around and launched some nice products this year

New Head Units have dropped the glidetouch and seem to be more economical, some also have what Alpine calls, 'iPod Full Speed' (Navinji, time for an upgrade?) for faster iPod navigation and interface. Check out these Head Units:

CDA-9857 ($400)

CDA-9856 ($230)

CDA-9852 ($200)

CDA-9846 ($180)

and DVD units too

DVA-9861 ($650)

and IVA-W200 ($1100)

And Amplifiers:
They have revised the V-Power series. Unfortunately, its all classD now. It seems they took the money they saved in the internals and spent it on the exterior... well, they do look very nice though.

And there is a higher series of PDX amps as well... Class D again, they are stackable by design.

Interesting to note that none of the new Alpine units can do Time Alignment or Active 3way XO...

That old 9835 is looking so good now...

I also cant beleive that alpine unit will not have time correction. It is very highly praised feature of alpine in reviews.
9852 & 9856 r cheaper than 57 but have bigger display.

yes but look at the resolution on the 9857 display. i consider this display to be only truly ipod comaptible display.
