Re: The Bajaj Qute (RE60)

Finally, tata nano dream will be realized through bajaj qute. There is a huge lower middle class segment who want to switch from bike to under 1.5 lac vehicles which provide rain and heat shelter. Most of the families aspiring to go for unicorn to about 1 lac bikes and dont own a car will go for something like this. Lets hope bajaj gives it in white plate.

Unfortunately, available only in yellow plate for now. I doubt if anyone would want to have a Qute as a personal vehicle because no one wants to buy a cheap car (or a quadricycle). Alto still fits the bill perfectly.

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle launch in H2, 2018

Bajaj Auto to expand 3 wheeler & Quadricycle capacity to 1 million per year as Government announces end to Permits.

Quote:
At the SIAM convention yesterday, Minister for Transport Mr. Nitin Gadkari made a historic announcement moving to a “no-permit” regime for auto rickshaws powered by Alternate Fuels.
The Market Leader Bajaj with 86% market share in the alternate fuel 3 wheelers is majorly benefited with the development
This announcement is a further fillip for the Bajaj Qute, which comes with CNG / LPG fuel options, as more and more state governments approve the Qute for taxi applications.

Re: Bajaj Qute quadricycle launch in H2, 2018

Had the occasion to see a couple of them on the Mumbra bypass, probably being road tested, a few years ago. Those things were fast! And I would assume they won't slouch on the ghat like inclines like an auto rickshaw.

Hell, I have a mind to pick it up and plonk a fan in it Amby style and drive it to work everyday :-)

Bajaj Qute | First Drive Review | Autocar India

No AC, no vents, seats half the size with no headrest . Wish they had launched a full electric vehicle.

Re: The Bajaj Qute (RE60)

Well, Qute is not a car in the strict sense and it should not pretend to be.

But I see this product has the potential to create a new segment among private buyers based on its utility value only but not on snob value which is normally associated with car ownership.

Customers, who predominantly use two-wheeler to do errands on daily basis can pick up this product as better four wheeled alternative. This product can make its own space, particularly in tier II or III cities given the ease of owning one.

With addition of few extra features like mobile charger, small touch screen stereo, bottle holders, vibrant colors, Qute has the possibility to be popular with young college going population or similar segment, who neither have enough financial resource or time to maintain a car.

Yes, once again in my opinion, this product should not be promoted as car or alternate to car. Car buying population will not take this.

Re: The Bajaj Qute (RE60)

Had a chance to pull up next to a Qute (actually it pulled up alongside us) for a refill. It had a CNG tank, and was painted black and yellow (cab).

The owner / driver was busy on the phone so I couldn't ask anything.

The interiors look right in between a spacious cab and an auto rickshaw. A fit replacement for a Nano.

Re: The Bajaj Qute (RE60)

My Qute moment outside the Trimbakeshwar temple:

The Bajaj Qute (RE60)-img20211110155507.jpg

The autowala was using the Qute as a kennel for their family's pet kitten. The camera angle wasn't the best to capture the kitten in its glory:

The Bajaj Qute (RE60)-img20211110155514.jpg

We opened the window thinking the kitten was trapped inside but it didn't step out. We checked with the lady nearby and she shared the details of the kitten's residence during daytime.

Apparently there aren't enough crowds at the temple to run the Qute as an auto-rickshaw these days.

It might have caught the eyes of the crew while they were scouting locations in Central(?)/ South America.

Dissapointed that the badging is removed. Is it a standard practise in Hollywood movies to debadge unless in case of product placement?

Re: The Bajaj Qute (RE60)

Saw the Qute amidst busy Bangalore traffic - the vehicle does remind one of Reva more than the Nano. The first thing that came to my mind - it's a perfect size for an electric city vehicle - compact and roomy enough for a small family to travel within the city.

Que has a decent presence in Sri Lanka - they are even available for self-drive rent over there, at a price point similar to most bikes and scooters! Wonder why it hasn't picked up in India yet.
