kvish, stunning clarity and awesome DOF. I would rate them 10/10. As mentioned earlier, the third one is a stunner.
Tried out my new lens at HussainSagar Hyderabad.
Camer: Canon 400D
Lens: Sigma 170 - 500mm
100% crop of Buddha from the image above.

Pretty good macros. Love the lotus and the last one with bee. perfect
Kvish, that fourth flower IS a gem indeed!!!!!
Spectacular photo!! It looks like there is sunlight coming out of the center of the flower!
(btw - I prefer the original composition to the expanded/tilted version)

Lol... Got bitten by the photography bug recently.:)
Set out to experiment with my pooah ol 4 year old Canon Ixux 430 P&S (4mp). Here is one example ... I am actually embarassed putting it up here!
The second one was with flash!
This was a challange because there was a stiff breeze blowing.
Here is where I used the flash - The flower was extremely tiny and its stamen(?? or what ever) looked like the burnt wick of a candle!

Superb pics,Kaushik! Love every bit of photography on this thread!!
Nice pictures kvish. The lily seems quite good.
@kaushik: The first picture is amazing. The rest could do with some more DOF I felt.
Nice butterflies there, kaushik. Good snaps.
BTW, which place in Assam ? Don't remember seeing such beautiful and unique specimens of butterflies there. Or is there a butterfly park in Assam also ?
Since we are on the topic of butterfly adding a picture of it and a flower

Hi SKS_Biker, thanks for liking, yeah the DoF is shallow as I to get a good shutter speed I had to keep the aperature low(around f8) and most of them are close-up shots.

Thanks man,You've been to Assam ?? All these butterflies are from the garden at my home only.. I'm from a place called Gorgaon in Sivasagar district.Lots of butterflies are there and quite a few different ones.
I've seen quite a few exotic birds also there but I'm not into birding so don't have many pics of birds.I could spot lots of Adjutant storks/painted storks/egrets/herons/cormorants and countless small birds.
Regards,
Kaushik
Sks_Biker, lovely pics, isn;t that the butterfly is fluttering it's wing ? nice capture...
Yeah the wings are fluttering (hence the not so steady picture :( )

Spent 7 years there and in Sivasagar itself - the ONGC colony. Assam (& the other 6 sisters) is surely an awesome place, but not known to the rest of India. Almost like Kerala, except for the harsher winters. Let's take this offline, so as to not go O.T. - will PM you.
