@jacs - very nice captures, both wallpaper category.

Jacs, both images are good and it gives a direct jump to your DSLR journey. I dont remember clicking anything similar when I was using a P&S until the end of 2008.

Probably this is the last image (taken today) from my desk for the next 10 days as I will be busy on a 'soul search' totally cut-off from the world, no phones, no net, absolute solitude... :) Hope to see a lot of brilliant images when I come back. All the best !

35mm, f/1.8, ISO-100, 1/60 sec, flash from left through a softbox, below the camera. Hope the editing has not gone bad !

All the best shaju, keep us posted everyday on how you're progressing with your soul search! :D

And, you being a husband and a busy father; let us know the secret on how you manage to get this 10 days solitude?

Beautiful!

Anyone here, has experience with Raynox kits (250 in particular!)? Can someone share pics if they have?

I tried to get Raynox DCR 250 from Scotland, and then from Dubai through my brother in law. It was not found in the shops :( Looks like online shopping is the way to go.

It is surely a cheaper and very good alternative to an expensive macro lens. You can check out samples using google image search.

Thanks Shaju, nice picture there. Never knew your son is also a model :D.
Wishing you find your soul faster so that we can see your posts fast!

Few more from the last P&S lot, no post processing done other than compressing and resizing. Critics are welcome so that my DSLR journey will be better.

This is a pit of course.. but no one is falling I guess, everyone is going down hanging on to a rope. You can decide how deep you need to go. I am still almost on the top of the pit hanging on to the rope for my dear life, I see few people falling straight into it happily (buying flagship DSLR products with no idea about photography), some going down hastily but steadily with curiosity on what good can happen to their photographic skills, some take small steps at a time knowing what they are doing..

How much did the 250 cost you?

EDIT: Post no 3333 on 10/10/10. lol:

Hello friends, I have enjoyed viewing the wonderful pictures in this thread. I am an amateur when it comes to photography, but after viewing all these great pics, felt like sharing a few snaps. These were taken in Kodaikanal (Devil's Kitchen) and Ooty (near Kalhatty falls) respectively.

Nice one, is it taken with a Macro lens? I bought a lens reversal adapter for my 50mm 1.8 lens but finding it hell difficult to take hand held shots.
