@navin
Interesting Perspectives.
Shot off natural light.
Tried some back light bathing on the model, again all natural light.

TG.

Nikon 35mm, f/1.8, 1/60 sec, ISO-200, Flash OFF. Lighting in a church is always tricky and direct flash was spoiling the images bigtime, bouncing off the side wall and ceiling was out of question as it was far. The only solution in such situations (according to my real-time experiment) is having a 50mm f/1.4 and a 85mm f/1.4. Both are jewels in such indoor shoots. |
Nice one, wishing her a bright life. Church seems to be well lit, very natural exposure.

Shot off natural light. This was an awesome shot! Amazing use of light and beautiful clarity. However the left hand should have been in focus as well.
Tried some back light bathing on the model, again all natural light. Somehow did not like this shot. Technically a good effort, but I found no real focus of the picture. In fact the light diffusion makes the picture look very busy.

P.S. Where do you get your subjects from? :D
Hats off to the model!, How long did she have to maintain that pose? I tried myself posing like that and ended up with backsides paining.:D
@jacs
Thanks.
@typeonenegative
You are entitled to your opinion. :)
Reason for the hand to be out of focus - I want all attention on the face. The issue I see is that, the hand got a bit cut off and not that its out of focus.
Second image - I like busy photos.
Haha, subjects usually approach me to get portfolios done.

TG.
@deep blue
She had to pose for barely a second...so i doubt it was as bad as you think!

Arrey, I am typeO. Not typeOne. LOL
For your second shot, I felt the focus had to be on the mode, but the focus went to the lighting instead. The previous photograph you have posted shows a busy scene with a purpose. Anyway, still on film or back to the Digital world?
Shooting both these days. I really do not get how focus can be laid on the lighting..i feel the focal compositional element there is quite clearly the model...yes it can be much better done though.
Sorry for messing up your handle! lol!

Simple. Instead of the model, all I was thinking of was, "Wow. Nice use of light. BTW, who is this in the middle?"
:)
"Wow. Nice use of light. BTW, who is this in the middle?" - Very interesting perspective. A first timer for me!
So you go ahead and enjoy the nice use of light, while few of us shall enjoy the nice lady who is in the middle ;)

TG, not trying to influence your judgement, but I would prefer it to be more silhouette like, effect of backlight visible on the edges. slightly higher contrast would do.
@vivek
My judgement is the only thing i can go by right? No worries, you are not influencing my judgement at all. A few people might only see the way I do many a time, like I said...our eye is limited to ourself. I consider it a blessing, if atleast a few share a similar vision and can communicate with my work.
Something I thought i should share with the community that has helped me grow so much as a photographer.

Dead serious, I had to strain to look at the lady who is at the center of it all.
BTW, the posted picture is fab!
@adityabenz: Nice job. Which software do you use?
