Great pic, but due to the bright lights of the dam, the action is too dark. If you had composed it such that the dam lights were not visible, just the torrent of water, it would have been better, since the silky effect of the water would have been better.

The Photograph is nice, but you are shooting against the sun, which leads to washed out sky. Always try to position yourself so that the sun is somewhat behind you. But afternoon light is afternoon light, you can't do much about it

Hi Riju,
If you are using using photomatix then try using the Light smoothing to High,Strength in the range of 50-70 and luminosity low to get natural looking picture. Just play around with the settings to get the photograph the way you'ld like. Also another thing, you'll need to work with the contrast in photoshop/or some other tool after you get the HDR.
BTW in this photograph how many photos have you used for HDR? Looks like you may need 4-5 pics at different exposures to get all things right.

Riju, was there a shot which was exposed properly for the Clouds? If so then you should be able to get the details out. Here's what I got while using HDR,and that too from a single shot. I just used the canon's RAW converter to get 3 different photos at different exposures,[you can still find that there is one small speck which got blown out in both the shots but was luckily able to retrieve others]

Thanks Samurai, it was my first tryst with photomatics and I just loved the results. Tried different techniques in Photoshop before but never was able to get it right to my taste. Also heard from other photographer friends that even CS2 HDR doesn't give as good result as this software. You can give it a shot and it has a trial version with all the supported features but will add a watermark at the end. There are few more HDR's shared in my album, Ladakh- Pangong Tso - a set on Flickr [ I hope it's ok to post a link here]. Only grouse is that if the image contain noise then it got really accentuated some time. You need to get the exposures right for the different lightings.
