Nice pic there, buddy. It needs pure luck and presence of mind to get a silhouette of a bird/ plane/ jet-fighter against moon.
That bird up there at 11.30PM must be an
Eagle owl ( Bubo bubo ), as Eagles are not known to be Nocturnal.
PS:looking at the picture closely, it just might be a Bat, most probably a Flying Fox : larger of the species. Angle of the folded wings in the pic is really deceptive.
PS2: can you send me a high resolution crop of the bird part ? we can atleast make sure its an owl. My email id is my username at gmail.

This shot was taken using Nikon D200 body and Nikon 17-55 F2.8 ED Lens. Metering was done without the sun being in frame and then the shot was re-framed to shoot right into the sun quickly.
