I normally do not appreciate macro shots of subjects such as flowers or leaves or insects and the like. But this photo is really really nice. i guess that bit of black in the background really gave it that edge and the shades and slight shadows are just purrrfect :D great shot! |
Technically it is not a macro shot, just a close up. What makes it great is the composition and exposure.
Dont know if this one fits this thread.
Took this one at Ooty Botanical gardens as the sun was just peeping out from behind the cloud cover

@ samurai - i am but a novice at this. i love the art but am so not into the technical aspects. thank you for the correction.
@jkdas - well .. fish eggs for sure, unfortunately i do not consume this. i am a strictly meat only person. do not eat any other 'parts' :) but thank you for the consideration all the same :D
Wow. lookin at few pics that were posted in this thread, I was wondering whether I'll get a photo of that high calibre. But luck being on my side a day back, i stumbled upon this on my site.
A simple DragonFly.
Lot of scope for editing and getting it really good - but I haven't been able to do it as my PC is up for re-installation.
This is my second hometown.
Camera: Canon D5
fall colors upper peninsula, Michigan
Taken with a Sony A200 and touched up a bit with Photoshop
I am trying to get my RAW workflow right in GIMP.
This is the original shot, jpg out of DPP and USM

Here I adjust curves and exposure in raw file itself and adjust highlights, to bring out the max dynamic range. The penalty in increased noise in shadow areas

Taken at Monterey Bay, HDR with 3 Exposures.
No, this HDR is not working.

Good one..
Which s/w you use to create HDRs? Photoshop? I use photoshop, I tried to create three or four HDRs so far, but it all comes out bad. I use the method local adaptation but its very difficult to get one right.
