I see the blame game coming back to me now. Please stop it before TG goes out searching for me with a brick bat. It was me afterall who started the bribing idea...

So here comes the confession...! Over to you TG

Yesterday I got a rare chance to see behind the stage preps for a 'Kathakali' - Kerala's own classical dance-drama combo which is world famous.

Kathakali - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These men put hours of effort behind the stage to get transformed into the characters they portray, with all the make-up and the clothing. Here, an artist getting ready to portray 'Duryodhana'.

clevermax, I always thought they do a clean shave before putting those paints on the face. Skin without hair is supposed to be the criteria even for a make-up for a stage show too be it leg, face or chest !

Have you got any of the actual play ? That would have been a great feel !

This guy was flown from Chennai to meet up with the rest of the crew in my place for this play. He directly came from the airport, may be he couldn't get time for a shave! Moreover, he depicted a Villain character, so little bit of facial hair is okay... he he..

The entire face will be covered with thick make-up, so his case was fine I guess.

I watched the play, but could not click any pictures due to some technical reasons! (Battery went down) :(

That's the worst that can happen to a photographer!

Here are few pics I clicked last week!
Little bit of cropping and PS job done to add shadows as the pics were little overexposed!!

@discob: Good one... the picture has an overall green color cast.. even in the sky..
@D-Man: Sky looks good.. but the editing resulted in some amount of posterization. BTW, you need to clean your sensor!

Thank you Clevermax. Yes I saw the posterization did not know how to remove it . May be soften the pic or something. Yes cleaning was much needed and i did not realize it untill later.

@Sks_Biker: Amazing shot. How did you manage to get the Sun as well as the trees/foreground-rocks in focus.
