It was shot at Tekkady, during one of those Kalaripayuttu Shows. Hard to recollect the name of that place, but it was beside the famous wax museum in Tekkady.

None. It's apparently a very good chrome plated one.

That's what we get normally in Bangalore. Apart from that beater is roughly 18 inches long.

Had an awesome day with Shaju, Unni and Shaju's guru Anil at Ranganathittu. Here's a shot of the red whiskered bulbul. Got this shot after a long wait and struggle . Birding is addictive!!! Had to cut the tail as it was blocked by a branch :((. And I must admit, I am kinda impressed with the sigma 70-300 APO DG, but it's a bit soft at 300 :(.

@Tanveer: More wide angle shots please!
@Rudraji: The egg beater is looking so clean and shiny, I won't make Omlette with that

Beautiful shot HW. Is red whiskered bulbul so rare and difficult to spot? I think I shot the same bird when I was testing my new lens sometime back. The bird was sitting very near to me. The background was too bright and the shot is spoiled.

There was a nest in the interior atrium of our office building, where few eggs of this same bird hatched. We could hear the sweet sound of the father and mother bird for few days. One day we saw the little ones learning to fly.

Neat stuff.

@theMAG
Very crisp macro there of the fly!

@Hellwrath
I am loving how you are paying attention to the unseen lines! Tail got cropped though :(

Clevermax,
Thank you. Nice, you get to test your lens on a red whiskered bulbul! We were having a tough time because the background was too cluttered for a good shot and this bird was not moving out. So, eventually we decided to move on, and I slowed down a bit and this bird came out of the bamboo trees and kinda posed for me . I should have been careful with that tail being covered by a branch :(.

theMAG,
Nice. Shaju, Unni and I were there in the morning. You were there at the right time, for us the light had become a little too harsh at 9 am and I at times had to set the EV to -2 (the max I could go)!

TG,
Thank you. Yes, the tail got cropped because it was being covered by a branch and I was a little lazy to clone out the branch . I'll give it a shot and re-post it. BTW, the niagra shot is awesome, I just with the moon was circular, I understand that there would be blur because of clouds + long exposure.

Ok, here are two similar shots. Similar, because the action is similar, what composition do you guys prefer?

Lovely shot in there. I loved the reflecting eyes of the bird. I happen to have the older non APO version of the same lens. But, never got so close a shot with a bird.

@ TG: Again some awesome shot man. I kind of envy you big time these days.

Got very bored at home. While watching an IPL match me and my friend did this. Tried some torch photography.
