@Shaju, its hard to beileve that you are a new time photographer.
Almost every picture that you have been posting has vibrant colors and has a clean feel to it and your signature on the pictures is quite nice ( which font?).
Looks like your spending a lot of time shooting. Keep it up !!!:thumbs up
@HW: Thanks for the comment.

Mobike, every word what you have typed, is the biggest compliment I have ever got till today ! I am humbled as a learner.:) I think its the 'fire' within us that keep us learn things regardless of the field. Hope to give some quality photos in another 6 months on-field learning. I take out the cam only on weekends as work and hobby are two sides of the coin for me. Font used for signature is called 'monika'. It is not a windows default font but downloaded from some site.

Nice one. The date imprint doesnt look good for a beauty shot though. It gives lot of inspiration to do some similar shots. I think Coonoor (near Ooty) has good potential.
No looking back !:thumbs up
Pawan, hope you dont mind what I did to your lovely shot. See how it looks different after getting through a PP !:) Brickbats welcome from Germany !!

@shaju - once again a wonderful shot and very nice PP work on Pawan shot.

Yep, skin smoothening has been done. Bllur? Umm, any particular place? Yeah, I agree about the background, but what I really like is the natural smile on Unni's face and the catch light and that's what makes this photo special for me, irrespective of all the imperfections :).

Some change from the birds, before someone starts yelling "stop stop stop" !!
This is Dr.Venkat from AP, we became friends very soon, he swapped his 80-400 lens with my 70-300, fortunately we then spent only an hour more around the lake, unfortunately not a single shot came in focus from that lens, I had to do everything manual as my D60 didnt want to cooperate with a 80-400.:) Lessons learnt the hard way !!! You can check more about him at www.wildlifephotogallery.com Attachment 328491 |
Ah, Now I realize that D60 does not have a motor on the body and I guess that was the reason why it was unable to autofocus with the 80-400.

Indeed, no looking back. I love the sharpness here shaju. Good one. Is the blue due to PP?
"Pick me" and "Ballad"
Yajaman, thanks again. Comments are greatly appreciated (positive and negative) !
HW, 80-400 was an AF-S lens, it didnt even try to auto focus on my cam, still no clue why ! Reading some reviews on that lens, I find its known for its slow focus. Offcourse very bad for birding as we miss out every chance to shoot. I might have missed atleast 10 lovely shots due to that swapping !! About the blue on the above pic, original has some blue, its only slightly enhanced.
I find your last 2 pics darker than I expected. Is it the spot metering or the correction on PP playing the game here ? Here is the same what I got of the first one. See the colour difference. There is not much of a PP done on this. I think its the exposure setting making the difference. Mine was +0.3 exposure and spot metering. You might remember watching it on the plasma screen. Its very close to the original.

^^ Wooooooow. This could easliy win the NatGeo Pic of the year contest. Fanulous catch mate. Five Star Stuff. Have no words to explain.
clap:clap:X 1,000,000.
@shajufx: Thanks a lot to make it more beautiful.
By the way, sorry if I am asking dumb question, I read this PP in many posts, but what does it stand for?
PP = Post processing

Thanks for the info, seems like lot of discussion had done already and I am late :D
Yes, its Werfen in Austria.
Cute fellas.. Raring to go..:)

Looks like everyone is gone to wildlife adventure today ?:)
This shot made me laugh and think a lot. Look at the
black guy admiring the
ballerina girl with so much of awe and respect. Even birds prove that point "blacks always admire the whites" ! Lucky I am not in US, someone would have sued me !:)
