Rudra's face would be twitching violently when he sees this!

On a serious note, avoid flash as a first recourse in low light, especially in serious photography. There are other standard techniques -longer exposure, higher ISO, wider aperture - and many times a combination of these, to capture a low-light photo without masking richness of the details - as would be the case if flash were used.

Anticipating your next future question (!), generally a stable base (such as a tripod) is needed for long-exposure shots.

this is the best example for the low light close up photography. here i used longer exposure time+ISO 800+f4 and Tripod.
one more good thing to use is remote control for perfect sharp picture

Why have you used ISO800 in a long exposure shot?

Do you really need all of it together ? I have got very sharp and clean shots in ISO100 with 5 second exposure on low lit night shots.

Someone is celebrating the 6th or the 60th ? :)

TG, nice perspective, good she is white, otherwise it would have been a tough job to spot the photographer !!

Uprooted !

nice shot! Did you click it from the window of an airplane? Do bump up the exposure. Its underexposed and brighten the highlights a bit.

Here is something I tried yesterday. Need your valuable feedback guys.

the second pic has 2 renders, one a little dramatic and other is a little bit on the realistic side.

This is a wonderful thread with some stunning pictures. My 1st post here :)

Samurai.
By abstract i meant the subject of the pic which in this case is a glass filled with sprite. My interpretation might be wrong though.:)

Anyways, here's another shot.
