Nice shot, it does not look like ISO 1600. |

I have noticed that bringing down the exposure time by increasing the ISO from 400 to 1600 actually has no major effect in the amount of noise. As you know, noise increases with exposure time, and in my camera's case I can reduce the exposure time in such low light shots to something like 1/50s and it has very less noise compared to a longer exposure in ISO200 or so. Earlier I was reluctant to use anything above ISO400 and now I use ISO1600 a lot in these kinda shots. sometimes ISO3200 (my cam's max) also gives good shots if the exposure time is short enough. Interestingly, I don't like to use ISO800! |

That's some useful gyaan. Thank you, Clever dude. One doubt, was it hand held? |

Klub_Class, Thanks bro. It was taken at Sakleshpur, not ooty. Same flower as v&v posted, a different perspective. A floral abstract. I realized we're at the mercy of mother nature, then why fight it? So, I used wind here to my advantage to create the effect I wanted. I was inspired by Michael Brown (macro art in nature) to do this. |
