Roses all the way !!

It’s already the mid of monsoon timeframe, though the country on the average have received far little rain so far. Nevertheless, it’s time for buckling up and head to favorite monsoon spots and also flux the photography muscles, as most other T-BHPans. A monsoon always gives me nostalgia and unfortunately, I will be missing the God’s own country this time, where Monsoons hits first time every year, there is ample of opportunity in and around Pune, where I currently live. This is also the time, when some of the best pictures are clicked, so thought of sharing them here. Feel free to post your monsoon pictures on this thread as well.
Here are some teasers to get started with, a few I clicked at the beginning on June 2010. The rains werent enough, so I had to depend on the clouds :D
Other pics are in the making, will keep posting them.
Here are few more, including some evening/night shots as well:
wow!!!
I thought of starting such thread last month itself.
Thanks for this thread.
Its time for rain photography.
BTW, its Temghar dam on the way to Lavasa.
Right now, its raining here and i am tempted to take pic and post it, can't do so as there is no camera cable with me.
Ashish Sir, yes you are right, it is Temghar dam on the way to Lavasa. I was told that it is raining in Lavasa, but there is no water in the dam yet. Waiting for more rains :)
Nothing fancy as the rest, but yesterday i was driving back from baroda on the express highway and managed to get these 2 pics from my E71.
Have more monsson dedicated pics in my camera, shall upload the same over weekend.
Few Roses to Shaju from myside

Beautiful flowers shaju & sree! :thumbs up
Too hard to resist for my little dragonfly! :) Shot with the old Powershot S5.

Thanks Sree and crazydriver. Sree did you forget to sharpen your roses ? Crazydriver, I hope the dragonfly shot was in lowlight. We could find more details if lighting was better. If you found my rose petals soiled or unhealthy (outer petals), here is the reason, a look behind its leaf;
97 eggs on a single leaf :)

Just trying my hand at photography using my d3000.Please give tips for better macro shots.

@crazydriver: Lovely dragonfly shot!
@punterccrx8s: That's not a macro shot at all! What you mean by macro shot here? You used the macro mode in the DSLR with your kit lens?
Punter, look at the rose leaf with eggs I posted above, thats a macro shot. A single leaf is almost filling the frame and eggs are smaller than a mustard seed in real. You need a dedicated macro lens for such shots.
@ All: Sorry for the double post of the pic earlier. Wanted to delete one, but got timed out. Mods, please delete the second larger one showing up as attachment.

Low light + on-board flash + old powershot S5.
To add to it, I only have an useable high ISO 100. ISO 200 itself is grainy. Effect of the megapixel race! :Frustrati

Thank you. I'm back in kerala for the weekend. Kerala is an excellent place to learn macro! No offence to anyone, but at our chennai home, all i could find were spiders, flies and lizards. Missed all the dragonflies and butterflies.
Another shot of the same guy. Shot with Canon Powershot S5.

@shaju: Earlier I didn't notice your rose pictures above, the second one is beautiful!
